Tomb Raider 2 PS1 Review [ S1 Ep.12 ]

In this in-depth review of Tomb Raider II, I come back to one of my favourite games from childhood and take a closer look at how well it holds up today. While it moves further into action than the first game, it still delivers the kind of adventure, atmosphere, and memorable set pieces that made the series so special in the first place.

In the video, I talk about what makes Tomb Raider II such a standout sequel and why it remains one of the most beloved entries in the classic series. It builds on the foundation of the original while taking things in a bigger and more explosive direction, which makes it a very different experience but still a hugely important PlayStation classic.

Tomb Raider II was developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive for the Sony PlayStation and PC in 1997.

‘Poor Lara has to suffer because of MY incompetence’ is the single most honest statement ever made in a gaming video 😂 anyone else would blame the mechanics or the oxygen gauge.

"Tomb Raider ll". For me the best of the serie.

Listening to you describe these games that mean the world to me, feels so familiar. I love how you can tell the old school hardcore players from the casual ones; it all depends on how they describe their own experience.

The boat in venice is the strongest memory I have from watching my dad play this on the PC back in the day when it was just released, always so mesmerizing!

I don't know how to explain; but I love the tank controls no matter how weird or wonky they can be

Also it was the tomb raider games that made me realise I do indeed have thalassophobia. I hate underwater sections in any game. It just puts me on edge beyond belief and makes my anxiety spike through the roof... even laras indoor pool in her mansion scared me

"the message" bit at 16:25 was amazing 🤣

Love to hear you reminisce about playing this with your father. It’s such a precious and necessary experience.

The main theme of TR2 hits SO hard

The scariest part for me was the sharks. When I saw the start of 40 fathoms I took the game out of my ps1 and went to sell it. Right away. I was 15 and no internet or guides. I bought the game 1 year later and finished it.

Ah, my first PS1 experience - and it took me 7 hours to complete the first level as I had no idea what I was doing or supposed to do!

The story about only gettingbto play with your dad 3 times a year was very heartwarming. You should bring him on your channel!

I've never reflected on why she wears shorts in tibet other than that it looks cold. But now, all of a sudden, it makes sense. It looks like she goes straight to tibet with the seaplane and of course she doesn’t have a change of pants. But the pilots jacket laying in the cockpit? That she can put on. Haha, I never noticed that before.
