This is my first hatch as far as quail go and I watched your video with great interest. My kids were still drying in the incubator; I left them in for 24 hours until they were fluffy dry. Also, the tip about using paper towels too to prevent splay leg.
I had put pine shavings down but realized they were still too tiny to climb a mountain of pine shavings. So, I dumped the shavings in a box and set them aside for later use.
I'm so used to raising chicks from chickens, that I didn't even consider how different quail can be. So, I do indeed thank you for going the extra mile and explaining everything and the reasoning behind it. Your efforts made a difference for me and so far, I haven't lost anything.
