“Grace for a toxic family member is not the same as access”. Yes

I have had a toxic relationship with my mom my whole life, I am 55. Now that my husband and I moved close to her to help her in her aging years, it has all come to the surface. After 4 years, I have had enough. I've had to use boundaries and for a time, step back from her life. My sister who lives nearby (and has had a good relationship with my mom) is so angry with me. I am being unfair, unkind, dramatic, etc. I came upon your video and it was like a breath of fresh air. Thank you. I am doing all I can do honor my mom's position in my life while protecting myself from her.

True. Forgiveness is not reconciliation. We don’t owe abusers anything. Nothing at all.

Kris, you are one of a very few that actually gets what it is means to honor your father and mother, unlike those who have misinterpreted it for a few thousand years. We bring honor to them by putting our faith in God through Jesus Christ above them.

Thanks Kris. This is confirmation. “The opposition we face comes directly from our own family”.  God bless!

I honor a bad unredeemed family by not speaking ill of them and praying for their salvation. I left 27 years ago and never looked back. I refused to be dragged back in.  No fear. No obligation. No guilt. The Lord is in control of all of us

I am a husband to a covert narcissist (20 years). On the eve of my 60th birthday and 6 weeks after my brothers funeral she started a 6 hour "discussion" about wanting a divorce.... Dragging our 7 year old and 17 year old into her attack. End result is, I left. I will not go back. But, I will continue to pray for her. God save her, despite herself.

Thank You Kris.  I have received confirmation that I made the right choice.  I’m going no contact.  I pray for him to God.  I choose to forgive him because I don’t want to be bitter.

This is the situation.  I have not spoken to my brother for many years. My long lost brother contacted me recently.
He said some charming words and excuses.  No apology.  No remorse.  No accountability for his abusive behavior.  I prayed to God for guidance.  We had a few conversations.  He doesn’t accept who I am today.

I’m a child of God.  I am aware narcissism exists.  I set boundaries and have no guilt.

He is upset with me because I am no longer the naive sweet doormat that he enjoyed mistreating.

Thank you again Kris.  I appreciate you.  May your channel grow exponentially and help everyone to be healed. 🕊️🙏✝️

Wow!  The timing of this message is perfect for me.  I go through periods of guilt thinking I should do more but no this confirms so beautifully!  Thanks so much Kris!!! God bless you and all on this channel!

When you start to loose site of who you really are  - that’s when it’s time to cut the ties .

The controlling dynamic was verrrry covert.  Covert operations can actually stretch out the timeframe for discovering the truth of what and who these individuals are.  But God is never surprised or caught off guard. HE had a plan all along and the timing is always strategic.

I changed that saying from "blood is thicker than water" to *family is not by blood but by love".

Thank you Kris!! All of this is so very true!! It amazes me how many people deny or simply don’t know the real Jesus and the truth of His words on what family should be. When we honor Jesus with our lives by being surrendered and devoted to Him, we then are also honoring our parents by doing so…even if they aren’t doing the same.

So good….thank you! I am so grateful I have brothers, sisters, daughters and sons in Christ!!!!

Kris, i’m a daughter of a narcissist mother and i got inspired by your video! I’m so frustrated right now because i’m only on my way to “disconnect” from her. i just need to do the last step of my separation and it’s about finances, but i have no money for moving out yet.. i feel like i’m getting closer to God these days and believe He prepared better future form me, still i just know i gotta move out one day and stop contacting, this life in a nightmare for 20 years gave me nothing but trauma and dysfunctional lifestyle. Now i want to look towards the life Jesus wants me to live and do things i supposed to do❤ Thanks for your job🫶🏻

Thank you for your wisdom. After decades of abuse from my narcissistic "Christian" mom enabled by "Christian" family and friends, I cut myself off and only visit on rare occasions. Took awhile to learn not to explain or justify but finally mastered it. My circle is down to 5% of what it was, and finally found peace. I continue to pray for God's mercy on them all especially now that my mom has dementia, I don't know how she will repent.

3:03 "Here's what the call was missing: any acknowledgement of why he left in the first place." You're spot on. I'm really sorry you and your husband have had these experiences.

It's rare to have Christian spaces, leaders, and friends validate abuse or understand that people who are abusive are highly resistant to change, so I greatly appreciate your content.

Great teaching - Kris has God-given wisdom for fellow believers!

This was excellent. Thank you so much
