I could weep! Here in NE Pennsylvania, we get nothing name brand except Earth Breeze detergent every few months. No meat anymore at all except very occasionally a can of tuna. No milk. Not much cheese. Off brand peanut butter or sunflower seed butter. There are TONS of candy and sugary cereals, which are so bad for us, but, do satisfy a need for treats, I suppose. Produce used to be AMAZING and plentiful... all provided by ONE LOCAL FARMER. He is no doubt, tapped out and now, we get spoiled and saaad looking produce. PreCovid and lockdown time, we were spoiled and I canned ton of things. The deeply sad thing is the amount of food I see thrown into the community dumpster in my complex. All spoiling in the heat. I get home from work, hours later and rescue all I can. I work full time, but in a single income household, I really struggle and work to survive each day and cannot go to the pantry because of it. It hurts my heart to see people on welfare , or those dribing very expensive cars when I have none any longer and then throw away what woukd be a treasure to me and to many others. 😢 Our boxes are MEAGER now. Ive never seen such literal riches!

❤😊 Plant the root portions of those green onions, easy enough.
They grow back fast, and you can harvest the tops again and again.
If you don't have a garden, a flower pot in the window works just fine.

So much of what you received in produce, I would be very busy for a few days canning and freezing vegetables. 😀

Yes, you can freeze fresh mint. The leaves will get wilted but you will not loose any of the flavor.
I just googled it for you. 😀

Mint tea is absolutely delicious

Oh wow you get a  great selection

Yum for the cookies , waffle maker for the cookies? You’re worth the 40$!sandwhiches blessings , sharing is caring, enjoy your haul

You NEVER need to explain yourself!  In our area, if you are under $45k/yr, you are considered poor!  So, the 'working poor' IS a REAL THING.  Our food bank is all on the trust system, no proof of income required - one is just put in the database and given a card to show each time we go (we are allowed two times per month).  97% of our patrons are homed; we have a few homeless shelters that serve hot meals/beds for those who live rough, and are not just food insecure, so there are very few indigent who use our services.  I am not only a patron, but I am a volunteer, and that is my way of 'paying' back the kindness and dignity I have received from the volunteers and donors.

Wonderful food bank blessing! 👍

Now a days everyone needs a helping hand. You worked hard and an entitled to the food bank.

I chop my green onions up n freeze them. They do well freezing .

HEB coming in clutch as usual, taking care of Texas!

Don't worry what other people say or think.  There is always some one wasn't taught to keep there traps shut if they have nothing nice to say.

😊❤ You can root fresh mint in water, change the water every day, keep in semi shade, soon little roots appear, and you can plant them outside.

Mint eaves are good in tea, even iced tea, and lemonade. Yes pumpkin spice cake is o good.. Great haul all that produce is fantastic as well!!🌹🙏❤

i LOVE pickle loaf!! there is also an olive loaf.

I like freezing zucchini. I read on the recipe on how much I need and what blade to use on my food processor.
Many of the recipes have you having finely shredded, mushy, and coursly shredded.
I have a complete cookbook of recipes for using different vegetables.
I received it many years ago from our county extension.

The response to the pickle loaf is great!
