Thank you for Your time and detailed Info.

Thanks for the info Terry.. Nice video

You have a great set up

Awesome  I think I am going to print some of these feeders with my 3d printer. It should be a easy design and print

Great video, thank you so much! Your channel has been my go to for information as I get ready to begin raising quail. Please keep the videos coming. God bless

AS always ya got some excellent ideas..........thanks!

great!

I made a no-waste feeder out of a 1-foot section of 4" PVC pipe. I drilled eight, 1.25" holes, 1.5" off of one end. I installed a pressure test plug as a floor of the feeder. But the key of the feeder is the top of a 2-liter bottle that only lets food down into the base when the quail eat what is currently in the bottom of the feeder. It will feed eight quail at a time and won't allow the quail to waste food. Any food they sling stays inside the feeder. The materials cost for the feeder was less than $5 and it will hold nearly two quarts of food.

I use the j feeders and I have pretty much 0 loss with wire over it
I really like them thanks for sharing Terry

Thank you Terry. Good video. Still haven't found decent design for our outdoor setup. Closest is son did gutter trough with wire ontop for 1 cage, works well, but we'd love figure out some kind of container that feeds into it. Staying away from anything on outside cages because of other animals/predators getting freebies.

I have my cages outside so I use jay feeder and 1/2x1/2 wire

Ever since I started feeding fermented feed and in partially closed feeders, food waste went from ~20% to almost nothing. As a bonus they overall eat a lot less. Probably saving like good third of feed budget this way.

I wish I could use open feeders as well. I have to snake proof the entire cage including the egg rollouts, therefore I have to use J feeders. Lots and lots of waste, I'm hoping that your tip of not pushing food down will eliminate that problem.

Feeding Trough looks nice but I'd like to know how to build one like it cuz they are WAY over priced.

Do Jumbos have any trouble getting their heads through the the 1x2 wire to get to the trough trays ?

I like the trough idea, could you make that using plastic rain gutters with end caps?

Great video Terry, detailed and informative as always. Thank you. I think I'll try those trough feeders. Have you done a build video on the all wire cages shown in this video? I'm using the wood frame cages that you did a build video for quite a while ago, but I like the design of the all wire cages in this video. Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks again for all of your great content.

Nice Terry, unfortunately I can not use open feeders outside the cage as it attracts the wild birds into the barn.

I need some advice on how to give calcium to my quails.

I just started my quail journey and have the hatching time feeding system. Are the quail able to eat their feed all the way to the bottom of the feeder? Do you just keep topping their food off or dump it out if they don't consume it within a certain time frame? Thanks so much for all your helpful tips!
