Monty Don travels through France to uncover the deep connection between gardens, food, soil, and local tradition. From silent monastery vegetable plots and grand ornamental potagers to Paris allotments, organic farms, regional produce, and a Michelin-starred restaurant garden, he explores how the French grow what they eat. This journey reveals why the French kitchen garden is not just productive, but beautiful, cultural, and full of meaning.
