This week we've been sent a 49:1 transformer and 25 metres of high-quality Dipolex cable from Martin Lynch & Sons to put through its paces.
We'll start by opening up the 49:1 to take a look at the internal construction and build quality, before putting it to work as part of an End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW) antenna.
I'll then demonstrate how to use an SWR meter to gradually trim the wire, tuning the antenna to the frequency we want to operate on.

A simple and practical look at one of the most popular HF antenna setups in amateur radio!
