2003 Grievous should be the prime example of why you let Genndy Tartakovsky cook and just make sure he has what he needs to make the magic happen. George Lucas only gave him the description of “Jedi slaying cyborg” to work with and this is what he created!

The clones sent in to rescue the Jedi were ARC troopers and the red one is Fordo, a legendary clone commander. These clones are the hardest of the hard in the clone army and they had enough sense to not stick around dealing with this version of Grievous.

Count Doku: "Stop using standard attacks. Use the unorthodox."

@Mr_Doge-e9z 11 months ago

Honestly General Grievous was that type of enemy you DO NOT WANT TO FUCK WITH AT ALL but it now makes sense why they had to nerf him A LOT

And Count Dooku, one of the best duelist ever in their in-universe history, was routinely, casually, kicking the shit out of Grievous with nothing but pure skill in spars. And make no mistake, in Sith spars and doubtless theirs, the apprentice is supposed to genuinely be trying to kill his master. I doubt Dooku would tolerate any less.

The 2003 mini-series was what the Clone Wars was envisioned as before it was actually worked up for a live action movie. Swarms and swarms on both sides smashing against each other in absolutely massive battles. Throwing each other directly at each other openly, presumably just because Palpatine liked the pointless deaths it caused.

Funny thing is the word "Clanker" originated from the 2008 Star Wars the Clone wars cartoon

@Ronbonbon7 11 months ago

Grievous had a personal grudge and history against the jedi.

Another thing that's crazy about this Grevious is his expression throughout all of it. He is never worried, he is just perma locked in.

@18videowatcher41 10 months ago

Clanker is just a general slur for the droids the clones were fighting. It could be used to refer to any droid that was an enemy of the Republic.

21:14 That clone spotted the problem, loaded the solution & bada bing, bada boom! The problem DISAPPEARED. It was like MAGIC.

@frenchynoob 11 months ago

So Grievous is actually NOT a clanker: he is a cyborg containing the few surviving remains of an alien who got mind-wiped (or let's call it what it is, mind-graped) and his brain slaved to a computer to fight for the Separatists, and he absolutely HATES being called a droid, cuz he hates being stuck in his metal prison with his few remaining organs slowly rotting away, ready to die at any moment.

The fact that they needed to kidnap the chancellor and their main force was JUST grievous, shows what this man can do

@robxholicfoxyfan8552 9 months ago

7:16 and thus, Scoobert Doobert Doo mourns his lost friend. Ironically not realizing how in two other universes, Shaggy would become a serial killer. One who where's the mask of a ghost, and one where he is suited up as a narcissistic rabbit on the quest for immortality.

5:56 a sniper's dream

@ALUCARD-us3il 10 months ago

10:10, fun fact that jedi actually survived but the clones mistook him for dead and left him, and so did grevious as all he did after the fight ended was take his saber as a trophy

@SnarkMonkey 11 months ago

15:31 And those are "super" battledroids. Very durable. So, his shots had to also be very precise and consistent while he was raking fire across them or it wouldn't have done anything to them. This guy was perfectly zen.
