It has been confirmed that the Supreme Court falsified the expenditure records for the Chief Justice's official business expenses in at least 13 instances during the first half of 2026 alone. Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae spent as much as 200,000 won per person on a single meal, but the Supreme Court falsified the expense records by inflating the number of attendees to make it appear as if meals costing 50,000 won or less per person were served.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court even went so far as to submit these falsified records to the National Assembly for the parliamentary audit. This is a matter that could be subject to criminal charges under the Criminal Act, such as "falsification of official documents." There are calls for a government-level audit and investigation.
