Polecam film fabularny  Miasto 44 i film Kanał.

I jeszcze chciałbym nawiązać do muzyki, którą czasami słuchacie z lat 80-tych.
Pozdrawiam
Adam

greetings to my Polish brothers from Serbia💪💪💪

Powinniście oglądać to z kimś kto wytłumaczy wam kontekst sytuacyjny.

Moja mama, warszawianka, miała 14 lat w 1939 r.

The last photo shows Warsaw, approximately 80% destroyed by German bombing raids, which blew up buildings and set them on fire. Insurgents were often hiding there.

To trzeba urodzic sie Polakiem, zeby to zrozumiec😢😢😢

The kid you can see has proabbly something to do with a new documentary released this year. It features a story of a 14 years old boy, whose mother has kissed him on the forehead and told him he has to join the uprising. He recalled that when before the evacuation they have opened the channels under the city, normally used for sewage, he felt like throwing up before having to descend inside them to evacuate. In Poland even when we think about these events we usually think about adults. But teh fact is we had kids, young boys both involved in the uprising as well as in figthing during the WWII. ALways reminds me my own grandma started her war adventures when she was only 8 years old and has been through 3 different war camps before reaching the age of 16 years old when she was made to do forced labour.

Polska Walcząca (the “PW” anchor) is a symbol of the Polish people’s fight for freedom and independence during World War II. The letters P and W form a shape resembling an anchor, symbolizing hope and the strength of Poland.

The symbol was created in 1942, during the German occupation of Poland. It was chosen in a competition organized by the Information and Propaganda Bureau of the Headquarters of the Home Army (Armia Krajowa). The winning design was created by Anna Smoleńska, an art history student and member of the Polish underground resistance.

The symbol was painted on walls in Warsaw and other Polish cities, particularly by members of the Gray Ranks (Szare Szeregi). It showed the occupiers that Poles were still fighting and had not accepted the loss of their freedom.
In short: a symbol of resistance, courage, hope, and the fight for a free Poland.

Codenames were conspiacy/ underground state names. In case of an arrest not to deconspire and put in danger of arrest it was rule for the undeground state to divide people in groups no larger than 5 people knowing someone's real name and surname. So during WWII most Polish people either had " codenames", sometimes actual soldier's military codenames or used their middle names as if they were first names since these were known only to the closest family. For example to the people who attended the baptism ceremony. It was funny at times after the war. When some freinds of my grandpa visited him for birthday and used his codenam as if it was his first name his wife almost shut the door claiming that " nobody by this name lives in this house" but at last minute she recalled herself that it was her husband's middle name and his army codename that he was using only during the wartimes. ;-) The oppostie situations were also common. One of mu aunts liked her codename so much that she was using it as her first name post-war and some relatives were shocked to learn during her funeral that her real first name was completely different.

At the stadium where that banner was unfurled, fans sang Mazurek Dąbrowskiego*—Poland’s national anthem. People sing the same song at the beginning of the film amidst burning flares, marking "W-Hour"—the moment the Warsaw Uprising broke out at 5:00 PM in 1944. Today, commemorations are held across Poland every August 1st; at 5:00 PM, sirens wail, and people stand motionless in the streets for a minute of silence and reflection. The official, regular practice of using sirens to mark the occasion began in Warsaw in 1984. Previously, during the communist era, the authorities avoided the subject, and from 1957 onwards, tributes were paid only in a modest fashion at Powązki—Warsaw’s oldest cemetery. I highly recommend watching the film *City 44 (*Miasto 44*), though it is truly a harrowing and heart-wrenching experience.

Dziękuję za kolejny bardzo interesujący materiał .
Symbol na fladze Polski powstał z połączenia dwóch liter
P - Polska i W - walcząca
Pozdrawiam

1:11 On the shore there is an anchor sign with two letters P and W inscribed in it. The first letters of the words "Fighting Poland" (Polska Walcząca)
2:49 There are people alive who were child soldiers during the Warsaw Uprising, and this is a film that realistically depicts what happened to them. Lieutenant Jerzy Zawadzki, who experienced this exact scene, is still alive. He recounted that when a German put a gun to his head (he was 12 years old at the time), it wasn't until he got home that his mother pointed out the ring on his forehead. And the hot barrel of the gun went off in his direction. Out of fear and adrenaline, he didn't even realize it had happened.

Cześć.
