He was censored, investigated by the FBI, there were parents protesting at his shows burning CDs. It was pretty fucking hectic for a while there. And one of the shooters at one of the earlier high school shootings (I forget if it was Columbine) had him on the playlist in his ears during the actual event. He copped so much stick for that. There is more music where he talks about that. They were on his back for years.

Fun fact: em wrote the whole song while he traveling from Detroit to LA and create the beat in his mind 😐😐😐😐😵😵😵😶😶😶

“Rest again peacefully” meaning he raps. One of the most unrecognized bars of all time

7:54 “I Rest Again Peacefully” ➡️ “I R.A.P.”
He sure af does.

When he said "I'm so sick and tired of bein' admired, that i wish that i would just die or get fired and dropped from my label" He was serious. Everyone was going to far to get a autograph, pic etc.. It was happening for so long he really felt like this.

He really didn't know how to deal with fame. He didnt like people running up to him all the time.

I just caught rest in peace (RIP) but, instead "rest again peacefully" (RAP) rap (peacefully). lol

Eminem was on a plane to meet dre in LA when he wrote this btw. He had the melody in his head while he was on the plane and he started writing this masterpiece and when he got in dre's studio he rushed to the drum machines because he didn't wanted to forget anything so they produced the beat and Em got immidiatly in the booth to spit some fire !!

The whole first rhyme scheme will always be the hardest rhyme scheme ever.

Many of us owe something in our lives to Eminem; I owe him my PhD degree in English literature. I owe my freaking life to him, Im bipolar and when sh1t gets hard sh1t gets superhard, but there's something about the song "Deja Vu" I play that on repeat not to give in to addiction, and with Not Afraid thats as perfect as it gets for me to live through major depressive disorder, though I have too say that's 40% of the cocktails the rest is black and daeth metal
I owe him my career, my name reck in underground hiphop scene in my country
I owe knowing so many great artists that Im a fan of now because of Eminem
Thats life of a typical Stan

Stevie one of the best reactors I have ever seen he breaks every single bar down huge respect. Massive shout out to Stevie

Stevie knight slowly becoming a stan he just doesn't want to admit it. 🤣🤣

He was talking about Marilyn Manson and the Columbine shooting. The parents and everyone tried to blame metal music and say it's devil worshipping

If Em is a guest in the house of hip-hop, he's got a lifetime key to the master bedroom.

Eminem used an anapestic tetrameter throughout all 3 verses of this song, stressing every third syllable! INCREDIBLE! 🔥🔥🔥

I look forward to Marshall Monday’s, and Eminem weeks..

Em made the beat

This CD was his 2nd one he released. Sold 2+ million in just over a week. He went from being broke to blowing up into the biggest artist of this generation seemingly overnight. He lost ALL of his freedoms and privacy. He was battling being famous. On one hand he loved being recognized for his work and being able to provide for his family now, but on the other hand he’s not even able to pump his own gas or go out in public. He even has people breaking into his house just to see him. He was just overwhelmed by it all at this point.

As a black kid growing up in the hood I heard this in 6th grade and I've been tapped in to em ever since

I was the person standing by the bathroom while Eminem was taking a shit. And pissed him off enough to drop this masterpiece, You’re welcome everybody.
