I've been working toward this day since November.
Months of foundation prep, digging footers, framing, plumbing, radiant floor, vapor barrier, foam insulation, rebar. All of it done solo, by me. And then finally, the concrete pour.
And of course, nothing ever goes as planned! The pour got rescheduled, the wind had other plans, and there were more than a few moments of just waiting and hoping. But when the day finally came, the conditions couldn't have been more perfect.

These were also the last days with the love of my life still by my side.

This chapter of the DIY straw bale house build is now sealed under concrete forever.
If you are following along with off-grid living, owner builder projects, DIY concrete slab foundations, straw bale house construction, passive solar home design, or solo homesteading in the high desert of Colorado, then this channel might be perfect for you.

Thanks for being here ♥️
