Met Bronson when I was very young in the early 90’s We both went to a Restaurant in the Mountains about an hour and a half outside of Hollywood, looked like a place that belonged in Wyoming… I never spoke to him, I didn’t need to, nothing could’ve said more to me than the quiet confidence he radiated, and it was apparent he carried the weight of missing his wife, without trying to convey it. Silent moments shared can sometimes tell you volumes more than talking… Though we never spoke, I felt that I got who he was… good, solid, quiet, a saddened man who always wore a black wool overcoat.. You easily saw why he projected real strength in his Films… The kind who you’d want on your side in a movie, barroom Fight or a War. . .

As kids we all noticed Charles Bronson in early 1950’s as character actor. We all thought that he was cool and a man’s man not a girly boy like Tom Cruise. When Rawhide aired we thought Clint Eastwood as Rowdy was cast from the same mold. We never understood why Charles didn’t star through the 1960’s.

Many people think Charles Bronson was just a Hollywood “badass” image, but if you look closely, you’ll see he had real depth and genuine charisma. Lee Marvin may have been talented, but this time he misjudged Bronson.

Never cared for Lee Marvin , but will always be a Bronson fan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

From LA, dealt with movie stars in trust banking. Decades ago, used to see him & wife Jill Ireland at my local grocery store, Smith's Food King, on Westwood Blvd between Santa Monica & Wilshire. He looked like a MOVIE STAR! Always dressed world class elegant - Custom made cashmere jackets, in muted colors wardrobe. They lived in a mansion at 121 Udine Way on the Bel Air Golf Course, that later became notorious as the home of Lori Loughlin & Mossimo Giannulli, who served jail time for the USC scholarship admission scandal. Bronson's military records came out in 2021 & explained a lot - He was diagnosed as intellectually disabled. He couldn't read or write & had trouble understanding simple concepts. Jill took very good care of the man. Jill looked awful & I thought it was make-up & other tricks seen on other women in person (Audrey Meadows, among others.). Turns out she was dying of cancer! Felt just awful after I found that out. After Jill passed away, Charlie married her nurse... not worthy is an understatement - Know that because I socialized with his stepson & his wife. Last "Hollywood" couple ever had anything to do with - superficial thieves with no remorse...

That generation was tough a pine knot and damn near immortal. My dad was in New Guinea leyte Gulf all the way from the beach to the end of WW 2 in Tokyo harbor the day of surrender there were planes completely filling the skies and never got so much as a scratch smoked 3 pack of cigs a day drank like a fish and died on his feet 86 of a massive stroke never knew what hit him

Lee Marvin is a jackass. The only movie I ever remember watching him in was "Paint Your Wagon". Charles Bronson was my favorite actor. I watched him in most of his films before he became the vigilante in "Deathwish". Chato's Land, The Battle of the Bulge, and my favorite film, The Red Sun. Charles Bronson will always be the "All American Hero", not Lee Marvin, who I will always remember as an actor who played a singing, drunken thief.
