The color of Heartwood tokens do actually matter in the Limited format because of the 5 color Karn.

(7:35) That "Irrelevant ability" gave me a chuckle.
(9:01) Oh, that actually came up in a Magic Arena match I played recently. My opponent played a Doubling Season, and then later played a card that empowered Jace 2. It created two Jace tokens, but one of those Jaces immediately vanished due to having no loyalty, while the other one had been given the 4 loyalty counters. I found that amusing.

Sanctum Lurker's also a simple way to keep the 0 loyalty jace token from Doubling Season around

The fra video I've been waiting for.

Admitadly i was able to notice the bit with doubling season on my own what I do find interesting is that if you were to empower jace while having both a dounling season and an oath of gideion which makes your walkers enter with one additional loyalty counter you would get to keeo both races csuse both of them would enter with a minimum of 2 counters one from the oath and then doubled to 2

I believe you can also get an additional Jace token if the token stops having its planeswalker subtype due to becoming a creature or some other permanent type

Something I ran into lately with prepared spells, that I'm hoping someone can confirm: I believe if you steal an opponents prepared creature, and you cast the spell from exile, that counts as playing a card you don't own. Prepare says the copy gets created in exile when the creature becomes prepared, but if you steal the creature, the original owner is the one that created the copy. This matters for cards like Tasha or Don Andres.

Squall just got stronger

5:24 that has really bugged me for a while. It's really weird how the official printings of tokens aren't actually accurate. Since "token" is not a supertype, and the name of tokens with no specifically defined name end in "token", which they just leave out in print.

6:50 - The Tabaxi Toucaneers token attacking Pat is attacking Pat alone, it just didn't attack Pat alone.

There isn't anything that cares about attack*ing* a player alone yet, but compare it to this scenario:
Amy attacks Nick with a single Grizzly Bears and is not blocked. She Ninjutsu's in Coiling Stalker.
The Stalker is attacking alone, so can be the target of Croud of True Believers' ability, even though it did not attack alone.

EDIT: Dave clarifies the state vs event of attacking afterwards, but the Tabaxi Toucaneers sentence was still poorly worded.

What happens if you empower jace with a doubling season and sanctum lurker in play?

How does "attacking a player alone" work with 2HG?

The line is blurred for me sometimes when it comes to what is and isn't a player in that playstyle.

What happens if Amy attacks Nick with a Yuriko, but Nathan attacks Nick with a Party Crasher at the same time?

I wish they’d slow down and have better quality-control. It’s embarrassing that this set had mistakes like the typo in Gallia or the Heartwood Token not being printed with the Red-Green frame

Shame about how the empower jace mechanic works, i tought you could choose a jace plainswalker instead of it having to be a token pw, but i guess that would kinda break jace plainwalkers in regards to other plainwalkers.😅

Fact check: Heartwood tokens are NOT the first pre-defined tokens with a color. That honor goes to Walkers, from the Ealking Dead secret lair

111.10d A Walker token is a 2/2 black Zombie creature token named Walker.
