The shortest 20 minutes in history that rocked the world.

Lady GaGa took her stage name from Radio GaGa - the song wasn’t about her.  Freddie was told by his doctor not to do this performance because he had a throat infection, but he did it anyway. 🔥🎶🔥

You must keep in mind that the crowd (Live Aid) even didn't know they were coming, because Queen were added to the list when all the tickets were sold out. THIS WAS NOT A QUEEN CROWD BUT STILL THEY STOLE THE SHOW.
Freddie commanded the crowd at 2 stadiums simultaneously
(Wembley and Philadelphia) and HAD THEM IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND. Queen's performance at Live Aid is voted MOST ICONIC festiwal moment in music history.
BTW Radio Ga Ga = Lady Gaga ,she is a huge Queen fan

Yes, the 2 'policemen' were a British comedy duo. The 'Sargeant' was Mel Smith who died in 2013. The 'constable' was Griff Rhys Jones, who's still going strong

• Live Aid was a multi-venue benefit concert held on Saturday 13 July 1985, as well as a music-based fundraising initiative. The original event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise further funds for relief of the 1983–1985 famine in Ethiopia

I couldn't even give a speech in front of 20 people in school ...

92,000 people attended that concert it was classed as a global event which we will never see the likes of again. This has been hailed as one of the greatest live performances ever by Queen, I was 23 years old at the time and I still remember to this day how great it was. RIP Freddie.

1.9 billion people all around the world were watching it on TV directly.
Queen still holds the biggest paid crowd record in Rio. 250k each night for 2 nights= 500k and more.
This stadium was filled later twice by Queen again. Legends forever 😍

I attended Live Aid.  I remember watching this at Wembley like it was yesterday. Freddie wasn't just a singer, he was an entertainer.  Still got my ticket.  Nicely laminated now and locked up in my safe.

It was for famine relief in Ethiopia. The stadium was the old Wembley stadium in London - it since been torn down and rebuilt.
Other bands/people were David Bowie, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Status Quo, The Who, U2 and many more I can’t remember just now.
Freddie did that performance against doctor’s orders, as he had a throat infection, which made it very painful to sing

He was such a Gift. Awesome reaction. That's the way everyone should appreciate this one in a lifetime performance.

I am a lucky one that went to Queen concert in 1981 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I was 19th and was the best concert ever! They were just FANTASTIC!

The lineup featured more than 75 acts, including Elton John, Queen, Madonna, Santana, Led Zeppelin, Run DMC, Paul McCartney, Sting, Billy Ocean, Bryan Adams, The Beach Boys, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Duran Duran, U2, The Who, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Black Sabbath, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart and Eric Clapton.

Queen stole the show at live aid and everybody knew it!!
R.I.P FREDDIE WE MISS YOU

Best Performance of all times ❤️❤️

This was televised world 🌎 wide. After the London concert ended, the Philadelphia concert came on.  Phil Collins played both concerts,  took the Concord to make it. This was a fund raiser for Africa. Each band has 20 mins most only did 2 to 3 songs. Queen rehearsed over and over with a big clock to get their timing perfect to be able to do more songs.  Also Freddie was advised by his MD not to sing due to having strep throat. Lady Gaga got her name from this song Radio Gaga as she loves Queen.  It was very hot that day, they used hoses to cool people down.

This is one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Radio Ga Ga is what lady Ga Ga named herself after.

Finally met the amazing Brian May last week, my profile pic, I can confirm not only is he a a badass rock guitar  God, a Dr in Astrophysics, an animal rights campaigner, but he is one heck of a lovely, kind, warm guy. Thanks for the invite Brian 🙏♥️

There will never be another Freddie. Taking nothing away from the other band members. They are a gift to the world.

Later in the evening just Freddie Mercury and Brian May did an acoustic song called "Is this the world we created" It's a beautiful song that fit the occasion perfectly.  ☮️
