The FLOOD was supposed to be that #1 Lovecraftian horror that all the species feared most.

The Didact was hyped as the biggest threat humanity had ever faced, then he was forgotten and the Created were hyped up as an even bigger threat than the Didact, then they were forgotten and the Banished were hyped up as an even biggerer threat than the Created, then before the Banished even had a chance to be forgotten the Endless were hyped up at the end of Infinite as an even biggererest threat than the Banished or even the flood ever were...

Idk why people can't seem to get invested in 343's amazing writing, every new game introduces a new biggererest threat!

Too bad they won't be in the next game and we'll spend 7 hours fighting some covenant splinter faction called the Unforgiven or some shit.

Wow the Endless sound like some Dragonball "Uh oh another big bad strong guy, be careful guys he's even bigger and badder and stronger than the last big bad strong guy. " type of story writing.

The plot said so

Last time I was this early, the Precursors still held the Mantle.

So how many ancient races do we have running around now? Potential surviving Forerunners. Potential surviving Ancient Humans. Potential ancient Endless. Next we’ll have Ancient Prophet survivors. Is this actually going anywhere?

The Endless are a meta concept. They represent the fact that 343, by whatever name they choose to go by these days, will never relinquish power over our favorite series. We will be Endlessly disappointed.

I miss the Magic Zombies

Their harbinger couldn't take out one spartan 2, even with back up.
They are not more advanced than the Forerunners, of which, Master Chief couldn't even actually beat just the one.

It just so happens Chief can already "rearrange the terms of your existence" with good ol 7.62
Wait does this make Chief Endless?

343 simply came in and declared a 'new' threat, then just abandoned the idea with nothing to show, just like many abandoned story ideas before it.

I honestly wouldn't waste time trying to justify bad writing by 343. The Flood has always been the main horror of the series.

At this point the forerunners are to blame for everything that has happened in the galaxy all because they could never accept the fact they were not chosen by their creators to hold the Mantle of Responsibility. They became are to blame for the galaxy’s ruin for behaving like children that weren’t chosen by their creators.

Honestly, I wouldn't be suprised if "Halo Studios" wraps up this entire storyline in a book and does ANOTHER soft reboot of the series. They did this exact same thing for the "Multiplayer Storyline" they were hyping up, which is genuinely wild because they brought back Jun and the SoS to fight alongside your MP Spartan in the book. Instead, we just got forge crafted firefight maps which feel like they were made on a budget.

"Fate had us meet as foes, but this Ring will make us brothers."

I wish we could start all over again w the Master Chief waking up after the events of HALO3 and all of this was a horrible nightmare 😂

In Halo 4, we were introduced to the idea that the Forerunners were experimenting with bridging the gap between the physical and digital worlds. A technology that could blur the line between organic life and artificial existence.

Here’s my theory: perhaps the Endless perfected this technology. If they could truly transfer their essence seamlessly between physical and digital realms, they could achieve a form of practical immortality making them truly endless. The Forerunners wouldn’t fear them solely for their raw strength, but because the Endless succeeded in an area of research the Forerunners themselves never mastered.

This doesn’t mean the Endless were necessarily the most powerful species in the galaxy... only that they reached the “finish line” of a particular technological race first. Maybe they chose to remain hidden, acting as silent observers of the galaxy’s history, watching civilizations rise and fall without ever intervening.

Their reveal could have been accidental...forced into the open in the aftermath of the Halo Array’s firing, when much of the galaxy’s balance was shattered. The Endless emerging at this moment would explain both the Forerunners’ fear and their desperate attempts to contain them.

I'm hoping the endless are a devolved Precursor(s)

9:53 They're most likely not actually "immune" to the array in the figurative sense, since they can manipulate time they probably managed to find a way out without getting killed by it. They're not dangerous in it of themselves but similar to Spartans infected by the flood, they are made ten times more deadly if they're converted into infection forms.

7 mins in, i feel like an encounter with a species immune to the rings would merit communication
