A player with that much unbelievable talent comes along, maybe once in a lifetime.  It's too bad.....

I'll never forget my little brother telling our mother "I'm going to die a junkie" as she begged him, in tears, to go get help and to get clean. And he was true to his word, he died addicted. People don't understand, drug addiction is like homelessness...many of these folks don't want help and they don't want homes. They want to keep doing what they're doing and living the way they want no matter what you say or do. You can't force someone to care about themselves, it's impossible. Better to bang your head up against a mountain and expect it to budge.

I didn't recognize that dude without his long hair.

As someone who is an active member of NA and has 1 month and 3 days of clean time, I can wholeheartedly say you cannot help someone who doesn't want to be helped.

Bodom was my favorite band throughout my teen years and it makes me sad what became of the band overall and what happened to Alexi.

It's always sad to see alcohol and addiction just take hold on someone like that and destroy them.  Sad shit.

I still can't believe he's gone. Rip Alexi

I think Alexi had such high highs in his teens and twenties that he just struggled to come back down after that and mature

RIP Alexi. I remember being so shocked at how skinny he was on the last tour, I knew his time was short. But his playing was super tight and it was a great last time seeing one of my all time favorite musicians. I was lucky enough to see Bodom so many times from 2006 onward. COBHC

To speak about a subject like this so delicately and thoughtfully in a second language is mindblowing.

Alexi was undoubtedly one of the best guitarists of a generation, but the whole time Janne was up there by his side shredding away on keyboards with just as much fury and precision. Janne's a hell of a musician and I really hope he gets more recognition as time goes on.

The lyrics to "Are You Dead Yet?" actually make a lot of sense now :(

I just finished reading the book Janne - it was amazing. Thank you for being so candid and giving us the whole history of COB, it was a gripping read.

This is tearing me up so bad. I can relate but i didnt know that it was that bad😔😢
Rip Alexi❤️

That last question was really good. Also they had to plan the farewell tour which didn't happen because of covid. So they had some commitments to do which is why Janne couldn't quit right when alexi said he will drink till he dies. This is what im piecing together

Those automatic translations are just something else. Here YouTube told me that this video was entitled "He warms and talk about Alexi Laiho's wrestling matches as he left Bodom."

Forgot about Warmen’s solo album. Salieri strikes back was so sick. Dude is a wizard on the keys

I was able to do the meet and greet for the then unknown final tour and I thought it was really strange that Alexi and Daniel were on one side of the floor, and the other three were on the other. Really sad looking back on it now.

Bodom has been my favorte band since 2011 when I first listened to them in a Chris Cole skate video (big fan that appears in the Was It Worth It video). I admired Alexi so damn much since then but I was too young and poor adolescent living in a very small town in a 3rd world country so the only time that Bodom came to my country in 2016 I was 19 and could not afford the trip and the hotel and etc etc you know. Then when I started making a good living in 2019 I always wondered: will they come back again any time? What will be Alexi playing and singing like when he'll be 50? Because I knew how much he loved music... just think of how many albums he released with different bands during his early bodom days (1997-2003). So sad Bodom ended that same 2019 year, then pandemic, then Allu's death :( I have a heavy heart knowing that I'll never see him and CoB playing live

RIP Alexi
