Having a baby around a sx offender, would be illegal. Block all the people calling you "dramatic".

Sneaking someone hostile that had a boundary against them coming in, into the house while she's SLEEPING AND SICK hell no

Why are people so obsessed with kissing other people's babies? Weird. Gross.

the parents w the 11yo-- get it together. A grown woman is grooming your child. It doesn't matter if your spouse is on board, you need to handle it. you DO have the power to do something about it, call her on the phone, pull the child aside, intervene when it's not your business or your authority. If a child is being abused it is your business now. I did this when I was a middle school teacher, I risked my job telling a fifth grader what was happening to him (sensory disrespect re autism and adhd) was wrong and hooking him up with resources, I don't give a fuck nobody is going to hurt a child while I'm watching. I don't care if I go to fucking jail. Do something. Don't make excuses.

When people don't take no for an answer, I've started just repeating "no thank you." No explanation needed. If you don't explain why, then you give them less to argue against. Just no thank you, over and over, until they stop. You also get less misunderstandings this way.

“is she going to the bathroom to throw up?” so what we’re NOT gonna do is make jokes about people having eating disorders okay :) glad we got that out of the way

30:30 What OP's husband did here is called triangulation (bringing in a third party who is not part of the disagreement in order to get them "on your side" and bolster your own argument by making it two-against-one rather than actually resolving the conflict between the affected parties). This is an abuse tactic.

My nephew was born five weeks premature after a difficult pregnancy with gestational diabetes and failure to grow in the womb. When my sister’s BP spiked, she had an emergency c section.

My nephew was tiny and born in January, prime respiratory virus season.

I was terrified to hold him, and so neurotic about making sure I didn’t get sick or have any symptoms of anything at all.

The first video of me holding him, I’m crying and telling him how perfect he is, and how I want to smooch his face but I can’t until he’s older. He then waves an arm up and smacks me in the chin, and I laugh and tell him that that’s good, and he needs to protect himself from all face smoochers.

I held him as he slept while everyone else went to go eat dinner (I had already eaten).  Just a note: While we aren’t twins, my sister and I both look and sound exactly alike. It really freaks people out when they’ve only ever met one of us before lol

Anyway, I’m sitting there talking to the baby about how much I love him, and he’s smiling in his sleep.

After awhile, he wakes up and looks up at me with sleepy, happy eyes.

You could see the horror wash over him as he realized that I wasn’t his mom, and he just started turning tomato red like my sister does when she’s mad. 😂

Thankfully, at one year old, he finally loves me and doesn’t start screaming when I hold him, so that’s a nice upgrade from before 😂

I wish I could share that video because it’s adorable. Wish I had gotten angry tomato boy on video because I’m sure my face was also contorting in horror as I yelled for my sister and told her that I think I had broken her baby right before he started screaming 😂😂

I think caring about extended family members' opinions is also cultural. A lot of cultures have a village mentality when it comes to their entire family. Maybe they all raised the kids together. Maybe they were all in each other's houses. Maybe they all lived together or were neighbors. A classmate of mine has that kind of family dynamic and I could totally understand how that makes someone's family be super nosy when it comes to their love life.

I contracted herpes when I was 3yo. My mom at the time thought because it was from some make up they put on me for a preschool act, but this has given me another perspective. I didn’t loose my eye but I will never see correctly with it. My eye tried to protect itself from the infection but the cornea got severly damaged. Surgery is still not an option and I’m 38yo

5:53 exactly like wtf do you MEAN there's someone IN MY HOUSE that came in WITHOUT KNOCKING...😰/srs

I've been thinking about the whole importance of the extended family thing. I'm Mexican, so extended family is extremely important to me, and I get not wanting your kid to go through life without grandparents because to me, my grandparents have been my window to my heritage, my roots, understanding myself and where I come from. And my cousins are the ones I can talk about family stuff with, compare lives, support each other. But also if my extended family were violent and broke my boundaries, it wouldn't be my fault that I'm cut off from my heritage; it would be theirs. And if I had a child and my extended or direct family was violent, it wouldn't be me that's depriving my child of a relationship; it would be them. So yeah, I think extended family can be really important but also you don't owe loyalty to anyone who hurts you.

DON'T KISS BABIES!! (unless they are your own, of course). I am not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure someone kissed me as a baby, and now I get horrible, horrible mouth ulcers. I started getting them before I was even 1 and a half.

People who type with weird punctuation habits (putting extra spaces in or omitting them) do not pay attention to how other people write. And they think everybody else also pays no attention to punctuation, so it doesn’t occur to them that their punctuation habits are indicative of their personal writing style.

Babies have NO immune system for the first few weeks actually they rely solely on their mothers from breastfeeding! Those who dont breastfeed are in particularly precarious positions!

19:14 I would hazard a guess that "toxic fathers in law" are death with in different forums. Ones about physical assault, sexual harassment, etc. Ones involving law enforcement.

@11:55, I get cold sores, probably because of my grandma. I'm so irritated every time one pops up, because all that had to happen was for someone who had an active sore to NOT KISS. That's it. Don't kiss the baby when you have a sore. Instead, I have to deal with this disease for my entire life, ruining potential partnerships because you had to kiss the baby. I have not, and will not, be passing this on to anyone else.

As someone with coldsores, I got it from either my mom, or my grandpa. Grandpa gave it to one or both of us with childhood mouth kisses. I HATE coldsores, hate having them, and try telling people you got what is technically an STD from your mom, let alone grandpa. You get some crazy looks

When we went to visit my nephew two weeks after he was born last year, my sister and BIL practically chucked him at my mom so that they could get some sleep 😂

There was never any doubt that he was in good hands with her, and that she would honor their wishes and boundaries with him, keep him safe, and meet his needs.

If you’re a safe person, more than likely oyour children will be more than happy to let you babysit, especially during the sleep regression months.

But if you’re an active addict who steals your daughter in law’s pain meds right after she gave birth, date a sex offender, and knowingly endanger your grandchild’s health by going against all medical guidelines and kissing them on the mouth, then you’re gonna end up with a damn restraining order and you won’t even get supervised visitation with the grandkids.

OP’s husband needs to grow a pair of ovaries and stand up to his mommy. He has a kid now, and that child and his wife MUST come first.
