Plant and Bonham were 20yrs old when they recorded this, unbelievable.

We bought this album on the day it came to our local record store. Bought it because of the cover artwork.  Took it home and when the needle came down my musical life changed forever.  I am 75 and still remember that day

Greatest band in history! Nothing was close...blew us away!!

John Bonham did those Triplets on the Bass drum, a SINGLE 27"single Kick. Amazng talent.

Oh, we were ready, and we jumped on it. I was 12 when this hit. Changed my life.🥰

At 73, still listening.

Those triplets! We were listening to Yellow Submarine and Let it Be when this first exploded and our world changed forever.

First Album, first side, first song! Let’s go

Key facts regarding the recording:
Time Span: The recording, including mixing, took only 36 hours.
Preparation: The band was highly rehearsed, having played most of the songs on a Scandinavian tour prior to recording.
Production: The album was self-financed by Jimmy Page to ensure complete creative freedom.
Recording Technique: It was recorded live to 4-track or 8-track, showcasing their live sound.
Release: The album was released on January 12, 1969.

To answer your question, no, we were not ready for what was about to be unleashed on our collective 14 year old minds. I was lucky enough to see them three times, first time in July 1969 in my hometown of Vancouver.

there was nothing that could even stand with them

Yes we were ready. 17 years old when this album came out. Still listening every day. 50 years and still going strong.

Grew up in the 70's. Led Zep is part of my DNA.

Led Zeppelin was the Rock Stars of rock Stars. Tag team champions.

John Paul Jones laying down some of the most badass baselines ever, right from the get go.

Saw them in 77 in Oakland which sadly was their last North American Concert. I was 20 years old and loving life...70s Rock!

I was twenty and we had been immersed in great new music for almost a decade -- this was the peak and we were mesmerized and spoiled and mesmerized.

Enjoy the ride and don’t ever forget the feeling you had the first time you heard it!

Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin were both formed by fate. Both drummers were friends and both were Jazz based not to mention my two favorite drummers ever. Two of the best riff makers in Jimmy and Tony. Two of the best bass line masters in JPJ and Geezer. Both from near the same part of town in the same era.... and the singers are beyond perfect for each bands sound so YEAH you NEED Black Sabbath in your lives and ears. They will surprise you with their diversity of heavy sounds and funky playing.
