Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is bringing a lot of changes to the Insect Glaive with the Boost Bracer but after seeing the latest demo footage, I still have some mixed feelings.

In this video, I break down what we’ve learned about Rising Leaping Strike, Inverted Tornado Slash, Kinsect Powder, Boosted Offset Spiral, Kinsect Slash Combo, Boosted Descending Slash and Kinsect Harvest Extract.

Some of these changes look genuinely promising, especially the improvements to Kinsect Powder and extract gathering. Others leave me wondering whether they actually address the problems Insect Glaive currently has in Monster Hunter Wilds.

And yes... we need to talk about Rising Leaping Strike consuming Red Extract.

Keep in mind that the Ascendance demo represents an unfinished version of the game, so these mechanics can still change before release.

What do you think of the new Insect Glaive so far? Is Capcom taking the weapon in the right direction, or is there something you would change before Ascendance releases?
