These brothers are almost 60 & flowing like this! We have to stop this ageism in hip hop nonsense. As I get older, I need this from our legends!💯💯💯

The rappers from the 80’s were deep and referenced a lot of historical black names cause they read BOOKS!!! 📚 💯

G Rap is Complex with his rhymes, you got to rewind his shit to catch it , he's been like that since the 80's.

Kool G literally sounds timeless. Rhyme schemes were crazy. You know it’s some elite writing when you can reread the lyrics and they sound dope even when you say it 🤣

"I spit that rubber hose 'round ya arm type of grammar
Lady Sing the Blues pack, I laid more tracks than John Henry Hammer"
That is such a disgusting drug scheme 🔥🔥🔥

What’s really gangsta is that Starks and G-Rap didn’t even curse.

Starks says “Killers with album covers made out of mugshots” remember the Geto Boys 1st album “Grip it on that other level” alternate album cover was all 4 of their mugshots…Akshen, D, Bill and Red. Look it up.

It’s obvious that rappers from this era were well-read and knowledgeable about history and current events.

Morgan Freeman of hip hop is a great way to put it. Chuck D is another amazing contender to that title
