This is why I love the Wish “fandom”. It’s so creative and takes something that had so much potential and actually give it the potential is deserved. I loved this rewrite

One small suggestion; when Asha hits starboy with the broom, the star magic should make the broom move around like a person, to reference the Sorcerer's apprentice.

“A fox wishes his friendship with his dog buddy never ends” seeing that in the film would be enough to make the older fans PLENTY emotional

Ok, but a villainous power couple? How could they have slept on it?

the idea of Starboy brushing his hair with the fork as a reference to the little mermaid just made me start clapping, thats a perfect way to use a proper reference to an old disney movie!

His wish even fits already! Or you could change it to something more accurate to the real Walt like “I wish to promote that childlike wonder in all of us” or “I wish to bring joy to the world through art and story telling”.
He could even have a tiny mouse sidekick 🥺
And maybe have some ducks and dogs. And he tries to be a wingman for his little mouse when it tries to go flirt with a girl mouse 🥺

i saw this comment on a video where an artist redesigned the wish characters and it suggested that since the original star didnt speak, star boy could also be non verbal and speak in sign language. they also added that the star's signing could get messier and more frantic the more emotion he gets.

Magnifico being GENUINELY HEARTBROKEN over his wife's death would be SO COOL! Evil power couple AND they love each other?! Villains who still have healthy relationships my beloved >>>

Cool. One idea- instead of Ashe accidentally killing the queen, maybe you could make Magnifico be part of the battle and accidentally kill the queen in the crossfire. That was it's not Ashe's fault, and you could use it as a reference to Ursula killing Flotsam and Jetsam in The Little Mermaid.

i have an idea for the goat:

Valentino was actually the king's former apprentice, but he was cursed by Magnifico for speaking out against him. When Valentino gets his voice back, he has an identity crisis because his memory was wiped. At the end of the movie, he gets transformed back into a human by a kiss from the star boy (to reference Princess and The Frog)

All Disney had to do was write the damn thing themselves. Now we have Adam Sandler writing the best last-ish movie of 2023. By the way, good on him for writing and acting in said masterpiece along with Smigel and Paul Sado. Excellent work. Now, all we have to do is wait for Disney to fuck up a lot more, and more independent movies can get into the spotlight.

I know this is obscure but 16:20 , the Owl should wish to be a prince, like in sleeping beauty, when the owl steals prince Philip’s hat, boots, and cloak, to pretend to be a prince for Aurora.

I actually thought this movie was going to be about wants vs needs. Like, the King understood this and Asha was the one that had to learn that wishes aren't always smart or good.

Can we start using the term "anti-fandom" to refer to all the franchises that generated a massive fan cult SPECIFICALLY to create better stories while making fun at the source material?

It’s crazy how all of the fan animations and rewritten stories blow me away including this and and are all better than Disney’s version by far…..

I would’ve loved to see a trickster star boy who easily gets distracted and is a love interest, that would’ve been so cute and unique!

I love this re-write, but I'm STILL hankering for a rewrite where Asha is the Queen's daughter and Magnifico is her evil Stepfather, to pay homage to Lady Tremaine and the Evil Queen

amaya and magnifico having a duet that is like an evil version of "at all cost" is so big brain!

This is the actual Wish movie. I refuse to believe anything else.
