That was brilliant acting from her little curtsey to the way she falls limply to the way she shakes him when she discovers the truth.... Its brilliant.
at 5:18 she really makes it look like her feet are just moving on their own, like she’s completely lost control of her own body. it’s frighteningly beautiful. natalia is legendary!
It is actually so heartbreaking to watch., because it only really hits you across the face once you realize that this is going to be another leaf blowing through the wind to those who hold the power. Giselle's unfortunate decent into madness and her death, while it may hurt the Prince, does not affect him. He has a castle to go back to, a royal court, advisors, maids, a throne to inherit and a rich, influential fiance. He loses almost nothing in this situation but a girl who's life he ruined all because he loved her and she loved him. Meanwhile, the entire village loses their sweet Giselle. Her mother loses her one and only daughter and child. Hilarion loses his love. All because the rich once again interfered with things they knew shouldn't have been touched in the first place.
I love Natalia's Giselle. Her mannerisms and all the details and everything are spot on. This was the most brilliant mad scene I've ever scene. Also props to Acosta, such great acting aswell
not only osipova acted very well, but also the whole cast was impeccable, they stayed in character all the time, their facial expressions demonstrate a lot of professionalism
I love the way Berthe pushes Albrecht away to me he will always be the true villain of the story, Hilarion was doing the right thing by exposing him as the liar and cheater that he was, even if he only did it out of envy, it was the right thing to do. Giselle and Hilarion deserved better.
3:10 At first I didn't know what exactly was happening in this scene.
It was then that I read that what happens here in the play, is that Giselle is picking up a flower, then giving it a little kiss, embracing it, and then starting to tear off petals from it, playing "love me, love me not", so to find out if it was really true that Albrecht didn't love her; still clinging to the hope that he did, still clinging to the little sanity she had left... Until Albrecht takes it off her and helps her get up off the ground.
this scene literally made my hairs stand... like it actually happened! It doesn't feel like just a story and a ballet anymore, it feels real. Excellent acting and dancing... :0
