Water Buffalo or Kettle?

A two stroke 750cc triple.
Kawasaki "We did that."
Suzuki "Yeah, but people will survive riding ours."

It was never ,ever forgotten !!!

This must be the least forgotten japanese ever!  check the  classic prices! had both of these (750/3 and 500/2), lovely!

So forgotten that it is on every list of 60s/70s Japanese bikes

I put 100,000 miles on mine, and it still ran fine when I sold it.

I was the Parts Manager in a Suzuki shop back in 1973 & 1974 when these bikes were new. I currently own a 1974 GT750 with 156,000 miles showing on the "Clock". I purchased this bike in 1981 with 21,000 miles on it. I also have a 1977 GT750 with 55,000 miles and a 1972 GT750 Drag Bike that I built from a basket case. I also own a 2002, 1200S Bandit and a 2013 Hayabusa. I mention these "Modern Bikes" just to illustrate that I'm not caught in a Two Stroke "Time Warp"! Incidentally, I rode the 1974 GT750 to California and back, from Minnesotan 1993, when it had 113,000 miles on it. I also rode a 1968 T500 Suzuki to California and back in 1973, with no problems. One of the guys in the Lemans America Suzuki Club put it best when he said, "The longevity of the GT750 Suzuki is the best kept secret in all of Motorcycling".  I remember stopping in Scotts Bluff Nebraska in 1973 while on my way to California. A guy rolled in on a New 1973 GT750, so I started a conversation with him. He mentioned that he worked in a Honda Shop. I said, "You work in a Honda Shop and a riding a Suzuki Water Buffalo?" He said that Liquid Cooling was the only way to go for a Touring Bike, when Honda makes one, I'll buy that!" I imagine that he was on a Goldwing in 1975 when Honda finally went with Water Cooling!

Kettles were a good seller in the UK...then the GS 750 came along .

These motorcycles are FAR from forgotten, in fact, they're highly in demand and the soaring prices indicate that.

Also known , in Australia at least , The Water Bottle.

My first motorcycle was a Suzuki GT380 - a 2-stroke, 3-cylinder, air-cooled wonder!!  Just enough power and light enough to be fun!  I'll love that bike forever!!

I've been riding since the late 70's and have had all sorts of bikes including HD's and most recently a GS1250A but I've never forgotten the smell and sound of the two strokes. I bought a restored GT750 a couple of months ago and it takes me back to the days of my old two strokes nearly 50 years ago.

Not forgotten by me.  A buddy of mine had one.   He had quite a spectacular crash on it.  Great engine with a terrible frame.

The brain says GT-750... but the heart wants RE-5.

We called it the water bucket.

Known in NZ  as the water bus  Many fond memories
