Long time no see! ^^; I’m finally back to uploading videos. Thanks for sticking with me, and I hope you’ll keep following along! (^^)
This time, we tore out the entire upstairs floor of the Kominka and rebuilt it from the support beams up.
We’re reinforcing the floor framing and laying structural plywood.
It’s slow progress, but we’re finally getting closer to having “a home we can actually live in”!

On this channel, I’m renovating the Kominka I bought after quitting my job at 22, doing the work myself.
Although I graduated from a technical high school, I didn’t study construction, so I’m still an amateur when it comes to building.
With determination, perseverance, and a shoestring-budget mindset, I’m doing my best to make things with three goals: as cheaply as possible, as simply as possible, and with a result that looks the part.
I’m just an amateur who’s a little better with his hands than most, but I’ll give it my all. I’d love for you to follow along as I learn and improve.
My partner, Chansan, is my girlfriend, who comes to help on her days off work.
