EDIT: My video I reference actually was made after the Switch 2 was revealed. I was wrong about that.

How are you feeling about the future of all these gaming companies and of Nintendo specifically?

Honestly, what I've learned as an adult is that Nintendo is enough really.

Say no to the greed station 6

Japan is like 95% physical sales.

Reminder that with gog, you can burn your games on dvds and lend them, pass them around. Put them in whatever computer you want and always use it offline no matter if steam one day closes down

Nintendo saves the gaming industry collapse once again.

I am done with Sony after PS5. Their games really don’t interest anymore anyway and most of their games are shit anyway. From now on, it’s Nintendo and PC for me until I stop gaming.

I was one of the bitter Switch 2 haters when it first came out. But then I picked one up, started playing DK Bananza and realized I was just being dumb. Nintendo is still putting out fun games that you can get lost in for hours that don't require an online connection or a 20GB update to play. I picked up Splatoon Raiders recently and I'm blown away by how polished and fun it is for a game I honestly had low expectations for going in. And again, it's all on the cartridge with no micro-transaction BS as part of the package. The older I get, Nintendo feels like the only console company left who respects the fact that when I pick up my console to play, that's exactly what I want to do. Play my game and nothing more. The game that I own on a physical cartridge in full.

Im glad i grew up in the 90s when video games were fun and all hard copies..
Im so sorry for the gamers who are growing up now 👀.

1990's and 2000's were peak for so many things! ... Internet and mobile phones are killers! 😅

PC and Switch 2 is all a gamer needs really.
That being said, building a strong enough PC current day is extremely expensive and then also getting a Switch 2 on top of that is...difficult

I'm so lucky I built my PC before any of the price hikes so I was actually able to afford a Switch 2

I agree with you. Their retail presence is strong and they are smart to appreciate that.

They have monopolized the entire video game aisle at every major retailer. And that happened because Sony and MS are more greedy than they are perceptive.

Nintendo has been playing the long game. Now they are mostly alone in every Walmart, Target, etc.

Consoles need presence. This isn’t PC gaming. I don’t think they will ever give up physical games. The key cards were pushed to publishers so that the retail space could have some sort of cartridge. And now they are making different size carts.

Nintendo doesn’t make statements against other companies. They are mostly about action. This tracks.

Nintendo is  136 year old toy company with a significant retail brick and mortar presence.  Exhale boys - physical is safe.

Why dont they see that this strategy makes themselves irrelevant long term? Becoming a service (with a box) everyone will become replaceable. You wont be exclusive or special. You wont stand out.

I just love older fans that still recognize Star Fox ❤

I think from now on the only sensible option for gaming is pc + my beloved Nintendo switch

I'd like to add on about game key cards. You can locally download the game files from others who already have them installed on their Switch 2 consoles. Hypothetically speaking, it would be possible to preserve them long after the download servers go offline. I'd like to imagine some guy with a hundred Switch 2 consoles and a complete collection of key card releases opening up a public museum where you can make a pilgrimage to redownload any key card game you own.

Ive sold off most of my ps5 games and made a small fortune. Done with Sony. Its pc and switch 2 for me now.

The situation is so dire that even raising the prince Nintendo managed to somehow get some good will out of the consumers. SONY and Microsoft when they raise prices is like with 2 or 3 days heads notice or a week in the best scenarios. Nintendo have a three months notice.

Nintendo is not just a gaming console,  its a cereal.  When you eat it it gives you power. Nintendo power.
