Fun (or not so fun) fact: that massive bloody bruise on that one girl’s leg was not make up. It was an actual injury the actress endured while filming. Took a year for it to fully heal.

This is one of those movies I grew up watching with my mom and sister. Whenever one of started getting upset it was always, “are you crying? There’s no crying… there’s no crying in baseballlll”

One of the most underrated Hans Zimmer scores ❤️

I agree, I've never seen Hanks play a character quite like this in any other movie - and it's amazing.  Really wholesome and wonderful movie overall!

Apparently, this role goes down as one of Hank’s favorite performances. He said it was lots of fun plus he was able to have his family around for the summer while they were shooting so it was one of the easier shoots as well as his character not being the traditional “good” guy role he usually plays

My kids are always confused when I tell them "Don't run. You'll scare the chickens." We don't have chickens. Just a throw away line from the farm scene, but now my kids are stuck with it.

I love this film so much. Some great quotable lines and excellent performances. The ladies shown playing ball over the end credits were real players who the story is based on.

At the reunion scene, when one of them says “I’m a doctor now”, she was the one who couldn’t read.

Everyone always quotes the “no crying in baseball” scene, but “did anyone ever tell you you look like a penis with a little hat on” remains one of the funniest lines in a movie I’ve ever heard since I first watched this as a kid. So underrated lol

Yeeeees I love this movie. “There’s no crying in baseball” is permanently stuck in my brain.

I really like that as shitty Stilwell was as a kid, he actually grew up to be a good guy.

Geena Davis was a goddess for like a decade.  Good lord.

Heartfelt reunion of Dottie and Bob...
(Next scene)
Jimmy: WHY AM I THE ONLY PERSON ON THIS BUS?!

THis is one of my favorite movies of all time!!!!

24:48 Imcan confirm theyre real, and theyre spectacular.

Filmed partially in my home town, Evansville IN!

I always thought Dottie was scared of her talent.

"it's mostly her genetics, sir" had me howling hahaha

In the beginning of the film Jimmy Dugan rips up the baseball card that Betty hands him. She is the same woman who receives the telegram about George’s death from the war department.

That huge bruise was real, and was there for about a year 😮
