Intubation is basically running a flexible tube through your mouth or nose down your windpipe so you can breathe.

Do you get the magnitude that Nick was just casually speaking to one of the Marines from Iwo Jima that was at Mt Surabachi.

There are so few of those people left in existence. Absolutely incredible.

His wife was robbing him with the tax money and he cut her off.

"Uncommon valor was a common virtue". So we couldn't possibly learn about all these heroic individuals but I admire your attitude

"What Is Intubated?"

Basically, Jack had a breathing tube shoved down his throat in an attempt to resuscitate him

The beauty of what Nick does, is brings to light the incredible men and women who have been lost to history. It's sad that there are countless tens of thousands of people and stories we will never know about due to just not having the technology and record keeping from the past.

Fun fact Jack Lucas has a Guided missile destroyer named after him. "USS Jack H. Lucas (DDG-125)"

Intubated is having a breathing tube inserted way down your throat so your throat doesn't swell shut after major thorax trauma.  Holds everything open so, but we aren't designed to have our air passages locked open.  The brain hits the panic button since its something "wrong" with breathing.

Thanks for the great content Boomy

Military rule. Never be to good at something you don't wanna do forever.

My grandfather lied about his age to join the Navy after Pearl Harbor. He was 16yr old and he had no issues joining. He also lived with shrapnel in his leg.

Tijuana is a very rambunctious place.

I remember a platoon Sgt walking up to a Marine in formation pointed at his armpit and said, "what's that?".
The kid said "what?".
Sgt, "lift your arm up".
The kid does, the Sgt then said, "thanks for volunteering". LMFAO
😂😂😂😂

Nic is coming out with a book series.

(Sci-fi+WW2+historical heroes)

It seems that Erelene's primary interest in Jack was his money.
I would venture to guess that what the kids and step kids thought probably was based what each individually thought of Erlene as a mother.

I know you don't take suggestions here but as a fellow Brit you've gotta watch Nick's Sir Douglas Bader video, it's absolutely mental.

I mean, fear of falling is the only fear we're born with, so fear of heights is very valid. Plus, I'm terrified of heights haha

When you watch interviews with those who have been awarded the Medal of Honor,
they rarely describe themselves as "Heroes" - often echoing that the real heroes did not come home.
Just a few years ago, the very last WW2 recipient of the Medal of Honor passed away.
Hershel "Woody" Williams was strikingly modest; he too fought at Iwo Jima,
and was awarded the MOH for his actions clearing bunkers with a flame thrower.
The trauma of his battle was always readily apparent, since when discussing his actions,
he often used phrases such as, "I've been told", or, "other people say"... that I did this.
His psyche suppressed much of his memory of the day... from the day it happened,
until the day he passed - over 77 years later.

51:12 dude ate a grenade blast directly and didn’t lose a limb.. falling from 1200 ft with no parachute is light work. I’d say the reserve parachute had to be catching enough wind to keep him from going terminal velocity, or it was divine intervention...up to you, I suppose.

21:17 well, he's in Hawaii by this time instead of North Carolina.  Permanently warm climate and great scenery
