An actor can disappear from the screen for years and still be instantly recognizable.
You might remember the character before remembering the actor's name. You might remember a single scene, a television episode, or a movie you haven't watched since you were younger.
That is what makes these recent losses worth looking back at.
In this video, we’re revisiting famous actors who have died in the last few days, with a look at the careers and performances that made them known to audiences.
The latest reports include Savithri Sreedharan, the Indian actress known for films including Sudani from Nigeria, Virus and Dakini, who died on September 23 at 85. Other recent reports include French actor and stage director Arnaud Denis, Iranian actor Cyrus Ebrahimzadeh, and Polish actor and satirist Stanisław Szelc.
These performers came from different backgrounds and worked in different parts of the entertainment industry.
Some were familiar faces on television.
Some built careers in cinema.
Others were best known for theatre or regional productions that may not have received the same international attention.
But each career tells its own story.
So instead of simply scrolling through a list of names, take a moment to see where these actors came from, what they worked on, and which performances made people remember them.
You may recognize someone immediately.
You may discover a performer you had never heard of.
Or you may suddenly remember an old film and realize, “I know that actor.”
