I know there are more perma death games than Rogue Lineage and Deepwoken, but I haven't played some of them so I don't want to criticize them!

Also the background game is Nullscape

So many devs on roblox are genuinely too lazy to build replayability, or endgame into their games, and instead opt to have the constant fear of permanent character loss hanging over the players heads to create that replayability. I think deepwoken suffers from this the least, but it's popularity definitely created the issue we're seeing now. So many games genuinely shoot themselves in the foot with permadeath slop its so sad.

perma death mfs when i dont want to lose all of my progress totaling up to a month to an enemy called "john dinquavius pickletime III"

Perma-death fans when someone isn't a masochist who wants to lose their entire progress in mere seconds

I’m tired of devs making permadeath in games that have NO GOOD REASON to have permadeath

"man finally i finished my build, took a while to get the equipment and weapons for it"

The humble 5 man squad depth gankers about to wipe hours of my progress in seconds:

having a game with a toxic community, pvp, extreme difficulty (bugs included), etc does NOT fit into a PERMADEATH game 😭

My main issue with these games is how hypocritical they are gameplay wise. On one hand they give you barely any info and tell you that “oh you should explore and find out on your own!” But on the other hand you are one wrong turn away from losing everything at all times. Either you push the players to be curious and explore by themselves or you punish them severely for their mistakes, but you can’t have both at the same time.

permadeath in roblox games just feels like a whole "LOOK GUYS THIS IS SOOOO HARD GUYS"  to bring in players.

Permadeath is a copout. A band-aid on a decapitation. Unless permadeath is the absolute core of the game (Deepwoken, Don't Starve, etc) it's only there for a cheap thrill. A supplement for a game that's non-functional at its core.

a thing i have been thinking for a while is how "difficult game with no handholding"  just translates to "i suck ass at balancing so deal with it"

Rogueblox is one of those unique cases where the devs hit the point where they actually want to add super meaningful content that would flesh out their game (a lot more content + a super giant 4 biome dungeon with bosses, etc.) but permadeath is just a bandaid that needs to be ripped off so they can heal the wound of the shallow progression and replace it with actual content.

Mfs who play perma-death games when you want to actually enjoy yourself on a game

"It's all slop that misunderstands what made the non-roblox inspiration games interesting?"
"Always has been."

Permadeath and multiplayer never goes well, its 100% gonna be toxic because people are actually fighting or doing the most like it is THEIR IN REAL LIFE SOUL that's in danger.

Perma death fans when I dont want to randomly lose my 10+ hours character because 3 kids with too much screentime decided to jump me out of nowhere for existing more than 10 nanoseconds:

Lets drop the permadeath and introduce: PERMALIFE. You can't die

Perma-death game devs try to make the game harder, but in truth, they're just making their own game AND community more insufferable.

Permadeath games is just a synonym for incremental simulator, but when I word it like that suddenly no one wants to play it anymore. Gee I wonder why.

I think one of my least favorite Permadeath games has to be Archived

Toxic community, people pvp for no reason, no good way to get your dead characters back, and genuinely just terrible gameplay repetition
