Are you new to carburetor tuning and not sure where to start? In this video, I'll show you the most important checks to make before you start changing jets, metering rods, power valves, accelerator pumps, idle mixture screws, or ignition timing.

Many carburetor tuning problems are actually caused by issues outside the carburetor itself. Before making adjustments, you need to verify fuel delivery, fuel pressure, ignition timing, vacuum leaks, engine temperature, and overall engine condition. Starting with the basics can save hours of frustration and prevent chasing tuning problems that aren't actually carburetor related.

In this beginner's guide to carburetor tuning, I cover the foundational diagnostic checks every tuner should perform and point you to additional videos that explain each tuning step in greater detail.
