In this portrait painting demonstration, a contemporary figurative oil painting of Mia is captured in a relaxed and natural seated pose. The video shows the painting process from blank canvas to finished artwork as the portrait develops using traditional oil painting techniques, combined with a contemporary approach to colour, light, and brushwork.

This figure painting explores the quiet elegance of an everyday moment, focusing on gesture, atmosphere, and the subtle relationship between the sitter and her surroundings. Watch as the portrait gradually emerges through each stage of the process, revealing the decisions and techniques involved in creating a successful oil painting.
