Hi Miriam, thanks for your content! Very informative and honest. Im about to dive into a 100 faces challenge and this is useful

This is so cool. It looks like it is 3D.

Adding Neon Hot Pink to the Zorn/Apelles palette...
Somewhere out there, a Nerdrum/Kitch acolyte's linen smock just burst into flames! 😁😆🙃

Cool vid, cool painting. Colours also remind me of Degas.
Cheers

Thank you so much for your generosity Miriam ❤❤ The painting is PEAK

Love your content...and art:)

Great video, Miriam! Beautiful brushwork on that self-portrait! An excellent art historical example of "here for a good time, not for a long time" colors (that was hilarious, btw) is van Gogh's Bedroom in Arles (al three versions).

looking forward into traditional art soon! this will be very helpful.

I definitely thought it was Zorn palette! And interesting that you didn’t go to the cool reds as much like John did! Great work by the way!

Hey, use whatever you want to create your artwork! I personally think your awesome!

I love this painting! Brava!

Superb. And, thank you for the skin tone hack. Because neon colours have scared the hell outta me.

I wonder if a lot of the "lightfastness" or "archival" worries we have as artists could be chalked up to hubris. The idea that we have Monet or Van Gogh or whomever's paintings from 100 years ago because they used archival materials can be infectuous. "I need to make all my sketchbooks perfect and all my artwork timeless so that it will all be preserved beautifully for my offspring and eventually the museum the world will go to see my artwork at..."  ...I know, silly and not a conscious thought, but I think it does creep behind the surface a bit.

We should be more willing to let ourselves fade into history and celebrate the art we make today.

The 1980 Hot Pink! I totally mixed this into my fleshy mud pile yesterday! I bought them to try out a CMYK thing, and it was still on the palette. I guess we'll see what happens in 10 years?

Great paint and pretty face ❤

😂I love that it drives people crazy. Your work is so awesome Who cares that you use an I pad lol

Thank

According to the website, they contain whiteners, so these stop working ater... 10 years (?) making the colors more grey. Yes the problem is saturation at high value. Do you ever use transparency to achieve this? Sometimes I just press my thumb in the paint, so that the white underneath shows through more, making the color lighter and more saturated. Only works on thin passages though..

Great project / piece Are you selling it ?

Please, can someone explain to me how she used the mediums she mentioned? So the first layer was thinned with the 3-in-1 Gamblin? And then she painted with colors out of the tube? But does that first layer dry instantly? Because from my poor experience if that first layer is any bit wet, the colors on top mix with it. Don't they?
How do you go about adding layers of colors in all prima without waiting for them to dry, and without them mixing with each other?
