One of my favorite rom-coms. Grant recently came out saying his character is despicable for letting Julia's character walk past him and open the door knowing the paparazzi were on the other side.

I would wager that Hugh Grant was nearly just as much of a star in Britain as Julia was when they shot this. He certainly was not an unknown.

The birthday dinner scene is what I watch most, it’s hilarious.

RIP Emma Chambers who played Honey. She passed away in 2018 at the age of 53

He might have told her about the paparazzi but it happened too quickly.  He was still in shock himself.  He was not to blame.

Rhys Ifans who plays spike is a wonderful Welsh actor who has played a lot of great roles, including Luna’s father in Harry Potter. Great reaction as aways guys, thank you😊

Bridget Jones's Diary would be a fun one to watch, too. A very different side of Hugh Grant.

Lovely is absolutely the correct term. It just leaves you with a smile throughout!

I quite love this movie, especially since it blends elements of American and British films  together.
Also, it always makes me laugh Hugh Grant can play this loveable goof, but also the larger than life villain in Paddington 2.

Love this era before Hugh Bonneville became much better known. People forget how funny he can be. I love Tom McInerney too. All these actors that are Richard Curtis’ staples.

A film from Richard Curtis. He's really good at this kind of movie. He also did Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, and About Time. All are great British Rom Coms in their own individual flavors.

Emily Mortimer was also in The Newsroom and Dear Frankie.  Great in both!

An interesting film starring Hugh Geant was Impromptu, about the love story between Chopin and author, Georges Sand. He was, frankly, too handsome to play Chopin but it was delightful! Lots of great character actors in that film.
