bruh!!! 2.5 year build = 2.5 years of shooting footage too. Your long term vision is uncanny. Best wishes and wishing you more success mate!! Ride safe always!!

My buddy had one of those Yamahas.  He would ride the absolute piss out of it all season until too cold to ride.. He would throw it in the bushes. Snow, sleet, all winter.. Spring would roll around.. He would pull it out.. Fill the tires, change the oil, and replace the battery.. Again.. All season, ride the piss out of it.. He did this for 3 years. Bike was used when he got it.. He got another bike and put a for sale sign on the 650 and put it out front.. $50.00..  Dude skidded his truck within minutes..
"DOES THAT THING RUN"...
"Yeah, just needs a battery"
"I"LL BE RIGHT BACK DON"T SELL IT"
Dude went to get the cash, got the bike.
That afternoon we see him riding around town on it, just smiling from ear to ear.
Moral
Those Yamaha UJM engines are just absolute bullet proof beasts.
Keep 'em in oil and they will always run!

I just wanna say, this is the ONLY bike build time lapse video I’ve seen all the way through because the shots and editing is so great! After experiencing customizing bikes, I wish more people knew the time and work that go into them. Because when you do, you have more respect for it. It looks easy, but it really isn’t. Mad respect.

I was a little shocked by just how massive that engine was once you got everything stripped out of the way!

just wanted to say kudos to your efforts of building that bike, and making an epic video to come with it too. cheers man! enjoyed every second of it!

All these old cafe racers make me ask questions: 1. Where is the battery? 2. Where is CDI/TCI? 3. Relays and fuses.

I liked everything but the square headlights. That bike had the massive round headlight and I always liked that look.

being a builder for many years, it's always the extra mile that's worth watching people do I've been a bike builder my life. I have one suggestion for you and it's not about what you're doing or how you're doing it because everyone has their own style their own way, and I would never criticize that, but I would get rid of those damn Phillips head screws at every opportunity and replace them with allen head

The tank of the XJ650 is probably one of the best looking factory tanks I've seen. This build was epic! The outcome was so much better than I could ever imagine!

Owned this exact bike in the late ‘80s!
Had the same devious thought, but lacked the tools, money and ability to make it happen.
Well done Sir!

RIP good ole vintage bikes. Brave new world.

It’s perfect in every way possible.

ig i aint mad with my recommendations after all, this videographie is on another level

Awesome build mate, watched your videos for a while now. Just finished my own cafe racer build, hopefully plenty more to come 🤘🏍

It’s insane how effortless he made it look

That tail light was the business, its the little touches that make a big difference!

This series got me too finally go all in and get a project bike, picking up an xs400 this week and couldn't be more excited

What an incredibly beautiful video. Thank you.

My god the end of this was incredible - the entire thing actually. But this bike truly came out a work of art! <3
