Roberto Baggio was our Maradona. There isn't an Italian who didn't love him.
That missed penalty was very heavy and yet four years later, despite not very fortunate events in the league, we all wanted him in the world championship.
We would have liked it also in 2002.
He was a genius that only weak knees held him back.
Look at his goal in Brescia vs Juventus: a ridiculous, very difficult, goal achieved with the simplicity of a normal goal. A real magic.

The most incredible thing of this video is Inzaghi passing a ball

In my opinion, he is the most skillfull Italian player ever.

One of the most under appreciated legends. I rarely see anyone talking about him

Most people don't realise that Baggio was hurt when he took that shootout against Brasil. And the Italian before him missed his shot.

I started watching Football in my life because of ROBERTO BAGGIO 🇦🇪

One of the most underrated players ever, if Baggio had started all the matches (as he deserved) he'd have probably scored some 15 goals and if he had been called for the 2002 WC he would probably be the top scorer in the history of World Cups, but unfortunately Italian coaches didn't understand Baggio's brilliance.

Those who don't know: Baggio cost Italy the 1994 WC because he missed a penalty
Those who know: Without Baggio, Italy wouldn't even have made the 1994 WC Final.

The most talented Italian player to ever played. No argue allowed about it.

I'm scottish and when Baggio missed that penalty it was the worst day in my young life I was only 9, loved him and Italian football 😢

This man was born too soon to be appreciated by the system but at the same time his coming inspired generations of  Italian strikers.

The man who could have won a World Cup on his own. Il maestro

Even in faraway Japan, where football was still in its infancy, Baggio was a hero to everyone.

Simply i can't hold tears... I was 7 during USA '94, and after that penalty ,here in Italy there was so many trash on him... i wasn't able to wonder why, and still i'm not. For me that pony tail remain the finest demonstration of magic i've ever seen

THE ITALIAN ZICO  !!!   ONE OF THE BEST SOCCER PLAYER OF ALL TIME IN WORLD CUPS

The best player Italy saw in the 20th century.

My uncle named his ‘July 18, 1994’ born son after Baggio - it’s a very uncommon name for an Indian but it is true, his nickname which we call him by at home is ‘Baggio’. Such was the craze and following of this great player across the world. Hats off !

Giocatore immenso, classe, umiltà, educazione, amato da tutti. Limitato sempre dalle gelosie degli allenatori, eppure è di gran lunga l’italiano più forte di sempre. Grazie Roby.

He is a historic player 🏁.

Roberto Baggio was definitely one of the greatest star players not only in Italy but in all of European football.
