If I'm being honest, I lost interest in Creepypasta's in late 2021 and this channel single handedly reignited my passion for scary stories. The amount of unbelievable effort in these videos is something I never saw in any other Creepypasta narration channels. You genuinely are criminally underrated.

The writing and descriptions for the abusive relationship and panic attacks was really well done, and the incredible immersive voice acting only doubled it. 100/10

“Bro you stink, why don’t you take a shower?”

The Showers:

I take it like the showers was their dark side, their addiction and mental illness. The children in there, were themselves, hating what they have become. I am a recovering addict, so I am taking it that way. Beautiful story.

Jack: literally in a room with satan and all the spirits of hell
Steve: now where did that diddly darn gosh dang rope go?

One thing I LOVE about your narration is that you dont rush when reading or rush the dialogue. Some other channels read in a monotone rush and theres like no spirit or personality to the story. I love the way you read passionately and give life to the works of art that these authors create. Like you read these works in a respectful and amazing way.

At work finding a brand new 3 hour story is true ecstacy

I know it's a cliche but "the writer who frequently drinks" was written so well here. As somebody who's been struggling on and off with alcoholism, and who's also currently writing a couple stories, so much of the narrative rang true for me. The way you start making cute pet names for the ways you smuggle alcohol into inappropriate situations, the desire to drink at the sight of a shot without the thought of consequences, the continued drinking when "it just isn't hitting right", the frustration at your drunken state causing every spelling mistake and plot hole making you want more, the constant search for that warm calm in your stomach, and the irrationality and irritability with which you handle situations as compared to your sober self. I'm about a month or two sober now, with every plan of boosting that number. It's so incredible to hear such starkly personal experiences relayed by somebody else. Amazing writing and amazing narration and sound design, fantastic job all around!

"Drown me in the noise or let me fade away in peace" is such a hard ass line, i love that

man, the manipulative girlfriend really struck a chord with me. i felt that hopelessness alongside the mc, the exhaustion that comes with it.
amazing narration!

I don’t think I’ve hoped for a character to die more then Karen in this story….like my god

It's easy to forget how great Somnium narrations are with these long stories. It's always extremely apparent how much work was put into the story if it's a short one. It will probably have an emotional tune, a phrase or two spoken the way you will never forget. The emotions will overbear you at the end and you will reminisce for a moment or two.
Long stories have all of the same traits, but they are spread out, each taking its place in the most heart clenching moments of the tale.
But we should always remember how consistent these narrations are. There are always ups and downs in terms of emotional rollercoaster made by the author, but never highs or lows. The narration is on the same 100% level at all times, never straying from perfection. I still can't belive this channel is part of the creepypasta community. I'm glad I get to listen to Somnium, truly.

the fact that I hated Karen so much is truly a testament to the brilliance of the wring and voice acting. I always love you guys narrations!

Got into a car crash while listening to this one, flipped car. 1:17:54 turns out it happened right as they were talking about getting tickets. . . Didn’t get a ticket and survived the side of the mountain almost untouched. Dark Somniums soothing voice helped me stay calm in a high stress situation like that. 10/10 would suggest listening to this man at any time and any situation

moral of the story is never go to nebraska

Hope you guys dig the narration and story! ❤

The detail of the Sonic drink is what really made me go “this author went all out!” Thank you for the care you put into the most accurate midwestern representation I have ever heard in a creepypasta 🤣

Man, Romnex always does such a great job narrating as well! The stories where she is sad/manic/crazy are ALWAYS great, including this one! Brought a tear to my eye, just like "My Father, My Monster" does

Karen's not the type of person I'd feel comfortable affiliating myself with. Very manipulative and just nakedly self-serving and just toxic to be around, not that the main character sounded any less destructive, with his drinking and drug use exacerbating his obvious, yet undiagnosed health issues by not eating at all during or after his binges. The writer did a very great job crafting together such realistic personality traits with steadfast characteristics that would fit a modern-day (albeit abusive) relationship that, sadly, most people tend to settle for, wondering why the thought of self-termination keeps rearing its ugly head in their crosshairs. Very job well done 👌
