Ren’s Down the Road carries the soul of old blues — raw, wandering, and deeply human. The fingerpicked guitar feels like it’s been played on dusty porches for generations, while Ren’s voice channels that timeless ache of movement and meaning. In this reaction, we explore how his storytelling echoes legends like Robert Johnson and Mississippi John Hurt, blending modern reflection with the spirit of the blues.

If I had a quid for every person who says "Well I wasn't expecting that" after a Ren song, I would be very rich 😆

Ren has the perfect blues voice. I'd love to hear an entire album of him singing/ playing the blues.

The Robert Johnson story of devil at the crossroads. Ren's Stratocastor is the 60s vintage one. They spent 5 weeks together along with Webby's producer JP and did a 15 track album. 4 tracks are out , 4 more every other week and album drop in July.

Great reaction!! Thanks… and you should definitely continue with your journey on this album.. all the tracks are wildly different but really incredible… these two artist has pushed each other into new sounds and together they are truly a powerhouse!! Great reaction! Gold star for your blues knowledge🌟😁 Ren did the guitar work and I think he was playing his Stratocaster. He and Chris did a song called “Baggage” a couple of years ago and it is 🔥🔥🔥it’s on Chris’s channel. They are both fiercely independent artists and they mesh so well together. They have a whole album dropping called Asylum and have been dropping tracks every other week. You’ve got some catching up to do 😂😂 each song is so different but all have been great! LFG! ❤️‍🔥✌🏻🫶🏻

Every year we need Ren and Webby to lock themselves in a room for 5 weeks and then just open the door and let the magic spill out. That's exactly what happened with Inpatient. I can't remember the last time I've heard a collab come out so organically brilliant.

Ever since Robert Johnson, we've seen wonderful takes on this story..... Charlie Daniels, The Crossroads movie, Sinners, and many others.... but to me, it's finally reached masterpiece status.

Great reaction!

Love the soulful bluesy vibe. A great takedown of the dark side of the Music industry & the Robert Johnson story. Ren's voice has never sounded better, it was him on Guitar, Piano & backing vocals too. Webby as the Devil is🔥🔥🔥too. They bring the best out of each other on the Album, no spoilers but it's 4 from 4 so far.
