You guys are so quick on the uptake! There's a lot of information that's not communicated very clearly in the localisation due to character limits, but you've all picked up what's being put down pretty consistently.

I think I find when people go "FFVII is mid" or bad, they don't realise or didn't experience how revolutionary it was at the time. You guys seem to be experiencing that WOW factor from going through the FF series in order. It is like how people say Citizen Kane is uninteresting today; by standards today, yes, but the editing techniques for story telling were revolutionary at the time.

Love seeing the high viewership recently with streams and long format videos for you guys, it makes me happy that you guys continue to thrive while at the same time makes me motivated to keep pursuing my search for my passion in games and how to enjoy it as a job as well.

The asmr opening with the classic PS1 startup, AND a One-winged angel centerfold?! When I decided to bite the bullet and let my 1st FF7 experience be y'all's playthrough I didn't think it'd be such a premium viewing!

Super Mario RPG might have been my first ever JRPG, but FF7 was the one that really blew my mind. I never thought video game storytelling could be like this after years of platformers and a fighting game here or there. It sent me down the rabbit hole, so to speak. I immediately bought used copies of FF4 and FF6, the first time I ever bought used games. I played the fan translation of FF5. I had my middle school Japanese friend send me VHS recordings of him playing FF8, 'cause I couldn't wait to play it myself. FF7 was the turning point, and I never really looked back. I still enjoyed other genres over the decades, but I was locked into JRPGs from then on. Still am. I just started what I'm sure to be a 100+ hour plus playthrough of the latest Fire Emblem game.

Watching you guys go through this game is such a trip down memory lane. I remember running into the exact same issues with the prerendered map, i.e. not knowing that a ramp was a ramp.

So hype gents, hope you have a great time :)

I had a friend in college who would sing to the FF7 victory fanfare "We just defeated a giant house!". It fits the meter perfectly and has forever cursed the fanfare for me. Thanks, Hell House!

man the sheer joy you guys are experiencing is why im always an advocate for playing original games. The remakes are super swell too but there's something so magical about playing the original ff7 for the first time. excited to see more! <3

OG VII was the game that got me into games and especially into rpg's, jrpgs and anything else with a deep story. Watching you guys enjoy this as much as you did was the most cathartic thing ever, I loved seeing it, kudos!

Fun fact, I played this on the very first PC port, way back in the late 90s - when all the controls were on the numpad and no, you could not remap. And the ingame button prompts for minigames were not changes from the PS1 controller buttons. It added an extra level of challenge sometimes... XD

One-Winged Angel is the Centerfold, gents. <3

Looking forward to catching up on this! Saw some of the early stream and already loving the vibes. Y'all are a joy to watch.

I've been waiting for this, and I was not disappointed! FF7 turned me from someone who enjoys games to someone who loves them. It's the reason why I met my now wife, and why I got so deep into IT.
