On October 13, 1972, a plane carrying the Old Christians rugby team crashed in one of the most remote parts of the Andes—the longest mountain range on Earth. On board were 45 people, stranded at an altitude of 3,600 meters. At night, temperatures here drop to -30°C. Just a few days later, the search was called off, even though most of the passengers were still alive. They had no food. No way to communicate with the outside world. And no hope of being rescued. Then, they were faced with a choice that would define them forever
