Replaying mgs is like rewatching a movie.  Skipping cutscenes is like fast forwarding through all the dialog to get to the explosions.  It really is so vital to the experience!

“It’s over, I already pictured you as the screaming ape and myself as the chill ape enjoying Twin Snakes” is how I would describe myself with the remake. I would see so many posts/videos dogging on it but it’s sooo fun in it’s own way

28:00 …And the writer of the first X-Men movie. That’s not a joke btw. THE David Hayter was the writer of the first X-Men movie.

Back then they were going for realism, and it gave the games so much atmosphere. Video games now are so realistic that they are void of imagination. It's because the old games they had to do amazing graphical tricks to piece it all together that really sold it to us.

It's so weird that Matrix was this huge thing that influenced cinematography for years across all media. But now, it's kinda non existent unless it's being directly referenced like Agent Smith in Multiversus. (Also, I hope this gets added onto Switch 2's GameCube app, and has the ability to recognize what games are on the library for Psycho Mantis to reference)

One huge thing people forget: Snake has more moves, but so do the guards. They are as deadly as MGS2 guards.

I personally can describe my feelings towards MGS1 and TTS with this thought process;
Metal Gear Solid 1 is the manga, The Twin Snakes is the anime.

Twin Snakes is a very different game on Hard.  It feels like enemies ACTUALLY have enough ai upgrades to counter your remake abilities without being intentionally unfair like on Extreme.

For the Meryl vs Otakon ending debate, I actually like the role Otakon plays in Meryl's ending.

In that ending, Otakon is the one to tell Snake by Codec about the exit, but adds that the gates are locked, so he has to stay and unlock them from where he is. He's still fully aware that Shadow Moses is about to be nuked to hell, but decides to stay to give Snake and Meryl a chance to survive. As he says, "I'm done running, I'm choosing to stay here." It's one of my favorite moments with his character because you'd expect him to run away, given that he's spent the whole game avoiding combat. Now he's knowingly sacrificing himself to save not only the man who saved the world from WW3, but also his friend. It's that noble sacrifice that even Snake tells him means he won't survive that makes me love it so much, and I think him not having that scene hurts him as a character.

Insane that this game is possibly getting another remake if delta is any good

I seriously don't know when will they ever going to announce The Master Collection PT 2. But in due time MGS 3 Remake is coming out soon, so I am pretty much excited.

I want “Enclosure” played at my funeral.

Another small thing that helps the Miller twist in English is that Anderson and Fox share the same VA, so even if you notice Miller and Liquid are both Cam Clarke, you're primed to not think anything of it. TTS doesn't have the benefit because Fox got recast.

Oh shit, can’t wait to finally learn this mysterious reason you’re not that big into this series after alluding to that for so long

28:25 I think that the original's voice over was just a case of lightning in a bottle. It was so iconic and unique that trying to replicate it is almost impossible.

You really kept us waiting, huh

The twin snakes is sacred to me. That's my first experience with the original metal gear solid story.

Otherwise sons of Liberty was the first one I actually played.

But my God, I played through twin snakes over and over and over again afterwards.

I don't care if it's some matrix slow-mo Kung Fu fever dream version of it. I'm here for it. I loved it. I want to see a remastered release so bad

I bet we won't get it though because I'm sure with the MVS3 remake, they are just going to remake this one again anyway

Maybe it can be released on the GameCube emulator for switch 2

Twin snakes was my first experience with Mgs1 and I  don't really remember too much about it after maybe 10 years. In currently playing mgs1 on a PS2 on a crt and I'm having the time of my life haha.

Great video! I understand the hate with Twin Snakes but I'll gladly play either one. MGS 2 has its moments of crazy stuff too. Snake jumps in the water after Metal Gear Ray reminds me of how he ran towards Rex. Not exactly the same but pretty close.

The metal gear series is still among my favorites video game series from characters to story but when you're talking about gameplay for me the series truly got good with metal gear solid 2 and then vastly improves with games like metal gear solid 3, Peace Walker and so on.
