Big bos is so stealthy in this game he doesn't even leave a shadow.

If there had to be a theme for this game, it’s more or less moving on more so than Peace. The entire game is him trying to get over his grief, which he does in the 5 steps. He denies that what the boss did actually happened, he gets angry and acts like it was her fault, takes on the mission for a chance of seeing her again, then has to cut all connections to her to finally take down PW. Much like Halo Reach, the game was character-driven instead of plot-driven. The reason they made killing the horse so dramatic was because that was the last living connection to her.

To be fair the age change to Big Boss happened before PeaceWalker. MGS 3 did that.

I personally think the review is fine, but my main issue with this video is it feels a bit biased for Portable Ops, for example; how you believe its absurd that Big Boss creates MSF and its never talked about, but hate that people don't find Ops canon because of the the young Cambell argument which is ultimately exactly the same with the MSF. Both are cases of events that are never brought up, but never truly contradicted.
MSF is just a Proto-Outer Heaven that (when taken into account with GZ/PP) goes on to immediately get destroyed within the span of like a year. Diamond Dogs is made in its place, lasts another year at most, and eventually grows to become the starting point of Zanzibar Land. Its completely insignificant, just like the fact with Young Campbell. Why would anyone remember nor mention MSF by MGS4? By the same notion, why would Campbell ever need to tell Snake about how he was once friends with Big Boss? Of course the most cynical/pessimistic answer is that both events were added after the fact in later games... but story wise, can easily just be written off later down the line of canon as small blips in the bigger picture. These are things that happened but to the overall plot, might as well have never happened as far as the characters care.

As from that, I do respect your opinion if you didnt like Peace Walker, gameplay or otherwise. It just felt like you went into the game emotionally negatively to begin with rather than Objectively neutral if you get what im saying. Didnt wanna give it a chance and all that.

Dear sir:

It appears you like a game I do not like and do not like a game that I do.

This is wrong. A harsh and dreadful penising followed by being forced to work in a kipper factory for 93 years will be your punishments.

I played this immediately after mgs 3, before I played 2 or 4 and it made sense to me. I also didn't really understand the cipher thing but when I played 4 it all made sense. It honestly is one of my favorite metal gears.

I love Peace Walker. It was just really really fun. It was not as serious and had a different tone to it.

I like the whole denial aspect yes he keeps remembering the lines wrong for a reason to show that he is not in acceptance. He wants to believe that she defected on her own will to be able to live with himself killing the only person he truly loved more than himself.
It's perfect in the aspect that it is a reason to go mad. He got used and betrayed and its nice to see him seem so human

I liked this game

To be fair we did see picture Huey in snake eater

This is super late but the theme is peace because it explores that nature of peace, in the beginning of the game we see peace as pacifism and a lack of warfare however as the plot develops Paz reveals that the predominant idea of peace is actually controlled warfare to push forward plans. This is exactly the anti-thesis of Big Boss going forward, peace through control, Boss wants freedom through warfare.

No other MGS game has Paz in a bikini. I rest my case.

"We can get into Raiden in the next video"

DEAD ON

My favourite part is the blueprints, they're the ultimate grinding bullshit.

S rank certain missions without being told to, get  it RANDOMLY from the missions you send your soldiers oh but its certain ones so you won't know which without a guide OR find it in a mission without being told where it is.

A thing I like about PW and PP is that it really tests your moral compass, as when you are doing a mission that specifically asks you to eliminate a number of hostiles you are put into a rather interesting situation. That being do you extract them all including the low leveled ones or just kill the low level enemies and extract the ones you want.

Do you just do the convenient thing or the moral choice.

I like some ideas in this game and like every game in this series it has its own unique qualities enough for me to completely understand why it’s someone’s favorite. It’s my least favorite, but again everyone’s favorites are different. I like and defend both 4 and 5. While 2 remains my favorite, 3 and 1 are a close second. Metal Gear 2 is also pretty great.

I don't know if it's just me or not but I can't see big boss as a villain

I feel like you hit important points with the MGS4 review that really made me rethink how I feel about that game. But with this video I have to disagree. Story-wise, I felt this was an important exploration of Big Boss's psychology. You complain that his last memories of the Boss are inaccurate, but that's the way real memory works. It gets distorted by how we're feeling at the time, and Big Boss is going through a time of doubt over who's telling him the truth. And that also is true to life. Sometimes you lose someone and it takes you years to properly get over it.

I think the main thing we can take away from Metal Gear is that Kojima, or whoever wrote those stories, does not care about lore consistency. He'd rather write a story he's interested in at the time, rather than one that goes out of its way to fit the lore (probably the main reason why MGS4 is the way it is--he never actually cared about tying up every loose end; that is, until he got death threats).

Good video about PW. My only complain is about the boss fights, since you clearly fought them in the wrong way:against the 3 robots, the peace walker and the Zeke you are supposed not to focus their main weakpoint, but destroy the pieces of their armor, sensors and weapons piece after piece. In fact all the pieces of the robots have their own healtbars (you can analized them with a special gadget) and you can literally disassemble it and not only turn the boss fight easier, but also deal critical damages to the robot itself (as example:you can destroy the reactors of Pupa in order to not allow it to use the propulsion attack, you can destroy the sensor of chrysalis so he can't dodge your missles anymore, you can destroy the pieces of the big tank in order to break its cannons, it's blade and active the ladder to reach its weakpoint) .
