As far as I've seen, in Spain it's perfectly OK to ask for a modified dish if it's just things like "same dish but without onions" and stuff like that, usually also asking for extra of an ingredient already present on the dish. Asking for other ingredients and specially changing a lot of ingredients I think is more likely to be frowned uppon

13:41 "Please do not sue her, I need her money" is one of the best limes I've ever read 😂

The Operations Officer making the entire ship move to get the sun out of his eyes is such a flex.

Can't wait for her to get into R/OkBuddyPersona

Owner's Manuals tell people to not drink the battery fluid because 50 years ago, people kept drinking the battery juice.

For the first one, that cord has the male end, the side you plug into the wall, on both ends.

I would like a whole episode about TOTK!!!

Crystal telling us hee hang out spots just made me think of her as a persona confidant 😂

I agree. People in r/HyruleEngineering are just amazing.

As someone with allergy, they can sugarcoat it as much as they want it still suck when I have to give up on half the menu because apparently asking the chef to do the exact same recipe but not put goat cheese is paramount to insulting his whole bloodline.

Like I get it, it's annoying.
That's your restaurant, if you don't wanna help vegans keep their convictions, that's understandable

But the pretencious lecture they give tho, that's just too much.
Don't lecture me about my life being too comfortable when you act like changing one ingredient to your recipe is a personal attack.

German here. If i go into a restaurant and theyre not willing to switch out one meat for another, im not eating at that restaurant. Especially not if they call me priviliged for askin for something that all restaurants ive ever been too have done for me. Theres a ton of people that dont eat specific stuff and changin one thing really doesnt take that much work. It just shows your establishment doesnt care enough

She just forgot the name of the series simply because she went to castle oblivion on accident, the organization is just closely watching her before she gets to the kingdom hearts reddit and discovers all their secrets 😂

and  replace ingredients is not common
but most restaurants won't think it's bad if you ask them to remove an ingredient.
for exemple
you order a salad but ask them to remove tomatoes,
it's common.
I, for example, hate tomatoes and onions, so I normaly  ask for them to be removed.

6:50 In Italy, I'd say it generally depends on the kind of dish:

For things like pasta and risotto, you'll generally be denied, as it would be impossible for them to cook your order separately for other orders.

For grilled meat and steaks in most places you'll be able to specify if you want it rare, medium, well done, etc.

For salads you'll be most likely able to remove items, if you don't like it, but it'll be very unlikely to be able add items, because they have ingredients only for what is already on the menu

-For fast food, it depends on the chain, but usually you'll be able to make most changes unless too drastic.

But, I think the main star of the discussion is Pizzerias, where actually changes are pretty much the norm, rather than the exception. In fact, most pizzerias will have on the menu only the most popular/classic/traditional, or some special ones they want to promote (usually because they include some local ingredient)
For the rest, it's up to the client's fantasy, as they'll have ingredient for pretty much most things that you could imagine on top of a pizza
(EXCEPT PINEAPPLE. If they got pineapple on the menu, red flag. You're most likely in a tourist trap)

Poland, substitutions are restaurant-dependent, the chinese restaurant could allow you to pay more to swap white rice for fried rice, you could pay more to get a different bun at a sandwich place, but if it's one of those restaurants with waiters instead of you ordering at a bar to eat at the table? Don't you dare try that.
If you can't have something, restaurants do allow substractions (for example, I always ask for no garlic in my carbonara).

Many Danish restaurents have opted to make an "alternative" dish that has certain restrictions, such as meat or animal products. And fundamentally food is served more seperately. Example: a salad is serve partly disaasembled (bread, cheese, dressing, etc. by itself, salad is still mixed together). This mean that these places do not need to make alterrations to a dish, because a different variant serves as a "stand in".

Some places, like burger places, allows you to assemble your burgers however you want, with several alternatives for each part too.

That said, like many have already, you can request the increase of lack of one or more ingredients, or if something is to be served on the side or seperate. Changing the recipe is not looked at kindly. Servers will try and help you find something you can enjoy, but a restaurent is not obligated to invent new food on the spot.

But if say, you are ordering a dish where there is a main, objectively central, element (like steak) and you want that element replaced, it will not happen. You cannot order steak and replace the steak with whatever, or ommit it.

Ah, Tears of the Kingdom engineering. Proof of two facts: one, I was never destined to become an engineer - I have no eye or talent for it.

Two, that might be for the best. Hyrule's suffered enough.

That first one is commonly known as the firestarter

Real talk, I really do enjoy the TOTK engineering showcase. Just some cool stuff IMO. Feel free to keep doing it when the mood strikes you!
