If you want to be as good as Rener, you must speak like Rener.

Seriously... exactly like Rener.

Masakatsu Funaki got destroyed by this move.

Unfortunately you couldn't see how Rickson got the back position on the original footage, so I'm glad you made that much clear!

Bringing your knee back and dragging him so he ends up on his stomach was the last I'd expect.

So thanks for this clear video, Oss!

Great instructional but the one thing standing in the way of a sub is that muthafuckin pony tail. Are you also a part-time movement coach? xD

@rudyarmendariz19 11 years ago

I prefer to believe that Rener got his voice and personality from him.

22 years ago when I began teaching BJJ, I developed a heavy Brazilian accent..and I don't speak a word of Portuguese. I can tell this BB trains with the Rener GJJ. Brother, I closed my eyes and you sound just like him; pauses and inflections are spot on. Great job

you've taken on Rener's personality

This guy reminds me of Sensi Silver from Karate Kid 3

Definitely going to try this! I love how he talks like Rener too, haha.

I watched this video about 10 years ago, but wanted to come back to say thanks. I added this gem to my game and have way more fun doing this than the chair sit back take.

@frankricci88 12 years ago

he has the renergy

He change personality with Rener at 3:30

Awesome choke! I like how all the limbs are rendered useless. I am definitely going to practice this in training. Thanks!

Far out, listen
out for the tap because it's gonna be hard to feel that one.

@corym5558 12 years ago

Thank you for this PRICELESS gem. I will never forget this video. Such simplicity in the effectiveness.

@Seegie16 9 years ago

Ive been stuck in that before. Its kind of freaky when you are desperately trying to tap whith you foot and yelling TAP TAP at the same time.

I've been a subscriber for quite some time. I was reading the comments and was amazed at how many people don't respect what you're teaching. I personally loved it. Very clean technique. Thank you!

Rickson gracies tactics are always so effective thats what got me into jiu jitsu one of my instructors is a black belt under rickson you guys do a very good job of showing the effeciveness of the technique thanks!

That sequence is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing the details you did share. Previously I had been taking the back from the giftwrap, but this looks like it is much higher percentage. Can't wait to try it out!
