Keep your Gloves Mate Please ...

Wow, what a trip. I would love to go next year on my bike.

Great vlog David. Maybe contact Trucker Jenko, he's a motor bike man. He also does some charity runs aswell so combined the two.

Dude this is fantastic I haven’t even finished watching yet and I’m hooked. I’m in Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦 and we don’t get to do this type of stuff jumping from country to country. I’m so blessed that we get to tag along on your adventures keep up the good work mate 😁👍

As a Scotsman, I can boast that we have some stunning countryside. But that journey took in some epic scenery. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Well done David. Retired European truck driver and biker. Always carry some supermarket carrier bags with you to put in wet boots because wet feet are a horrible on a bike.

David mate that was awesome, not many folks could ride a bike 3 times then do the Stelvio. When you rode in that rainstorm it brought back my ptsd from a few trips .Well played sir

If you like the sound of that Ninja 1000SX(and maybe the power) but would like more comfort - then you need the Versys 1100. Great upright seating position, high windscreen yet same motor.

This is a Great Watch ..Dave is the  best rider you could have gone with  Very safe and sensible

Great video, I've been touring for the last 12 years, can't wait for the next one.  Just wear your gloves

You can tour on any bike , an Adventure bike is what I have but your Sx1000 is a sports tourer and is fine for touring , your also an experienced road user and not an idiot so a 1000cc bike is fine for you , I’ve done about 12/13 European trips on all sorts of bikes , can’t beat it 👌

Simply stunning roads and views davey boi 🎉

absolutely fantastic David, you've excelled yourself with this one, keep on keeping on young man, you're a top notch naturally brilliant vlogger!

Hi Dave, I am definitely up for this next year. Count me in mate.🤘

About 40 years ago I went on a Kawasaki Z550 from northern Germany to Morzine (French Alpes ) and did a one week course for trial riding there. Then I crossed Switzerland (about 5 alpine passes ) and arrived in Italy, all in one day. There I met a colleaque and we went up the Passo Stelvio by car (Skis on a bike, esp. because they were longer then, bit too diffycult!  ) and went skiing up there, and then back home. The whole tour was about 2500 km. I´m still quite proud of it, I did it on my own, the roads weren´t as good, no google maps! Not many women riding bikes then. And no youtube!

New subscriber,  fellow biker here,  not long had my licence and did my first big euro road trip this year on my KTM 1290 Super Adventure,  wasnt the right bike for me now ive got a bmw r1300 gs and its the perfect all rounder,  went to many of the same places you have been,  best thing ive ever done in my life and already booked and planning the routes for next years trip.  We spent 3 nights in Bormio in the hotel next door to the one you stayed in, Bormio is such a perfect base location to head out each day from,  we also stayed in Bellagio too on lake como!

17:50 No thank you for the content David keep up the good work and have fun👍😁

David, one piece of advice I can honestly say helped me was doing my IAM’s advanced training. It really has made a big difference not only to my bike riding but also to my driving too.
Get yourself a good laminated goretex waterproof suit and if your caught out again in the rain it will not wet out and it will keep you dry. You can also get visor proof! Put this on your visor and if it rains it’s just a matter of turning your head slightly and the water will just  disappear with the wind.
If you look at ‘biker from Atlantis’ he’s just starting out too albeit slightly further on than you. He’s done a number of training days Rapid for example which I would think would help you too. It’s not only teaching you on what you should be looking at but it’s also giving you confidence and skills to keep going. Definitely look at an adventure type bike as it will make a big difference to your riding. Keep up the good vlogs and your making the right decision sticking at the bike. It’s definitely too early just to be throwing the towel in.
Another thing is always carry at least 2 pairs of goretex gloves as it’s your hands that take the majority of abuse both from being wet, from stones and also from wind blast and being cold.  Try to wear gloves for safety, if you were to fall off or have an accident what would be the first part of your body to hit the ground ?

Small world, im from Manchester. i worked at that Castle 5 times over 6 years i drove a bus from the hotel and the lake up the castles Every 45 minutes , And i swear my mate who worked there aswell,  Drew A picture of A Camel and put it in my Carpark and wrote,  Camel rides to the castle 12 Dmarks, And people queued up in the Car park ,we lived in the yellow Castle as our Diggs .

Enjoyed that video Dave, when you have not been used to bikes till later in life it is alien but it will grow on you,  take your time gently gently catch the monkey the more miles you get under your belt the better it will be, if I had one point it would be get a good pair of gloves no excuses even a slight slid will take skin off and even when the bike is fine you can no longer ride it, stay safe Dave good luck to you
