We drive our Land Rover Defender up Sani Pass into Lesotho after leaving Underberg in South Africa. Join us as we cross borders, tackle the 4x4, off road section of Sani, camp at a traditional homestay in Lesotho and deal with some freezing condition as our world overland journey takes us deeper into africa. On our journey, we enjoy magnificent mountain views and endure some freezing conditions in our defender camper, as temperatures drop to minus 8 degrees celsius.

It's easy when it's dry. Heavy rain, ice and snow make it deadly. Definitely worth doing for the spectacular scenery and wildlife. Ground weed pecked, bearded vulture, bald ibis, and other interesting 'lifers' are found in this magnificent pass.

Hello from UK Steve and Tanaznian Tina on Vancouver Isalnd. I cycled up Sani pass twice in 1991 on my 22,000km 2 1/2 year cycle tour of East Africa Kenya to South Africa back up to Burundi, got sick and had to cancel the rest of the ride home to the UK. . Wish there was YouTube then..

Great video of Lesotho and the famous Sani pass. We did a similar trip in April up Sani (no views heavy cloud) but we kept going south. Thanks for good entertainment.

Sani Pass, has a NEW 21st, century look WOW!! NICE FOR A HIKE INTO LESOTHO FROM UNDERBERG, SOUTH AFRICA.
WE DID BUY SOME STUFF FROM "Super Spaar" that was 8years ago.
Will return finish my climb up the pass with a fishing rod, a pan, oil, and spuds, Lekker camping on the way up.❤🎉

Great video, Underberg is my home village town, I have used that Sani Pass before when I was travelling back to Cape Town. Lesotho is a very safe Country.

Nice memories. We did not do it in a 4x4 though. We were also sad with the ill raised kids that through our vehicle with stones when we drove past them through most villages. The country is unbelievably beautiful.
