The Last of Us parts 2 and 3 are gonna take a while to film so there are gonna be a couple vids in between then and now. I promise itll be worth the wait tho :)

"just because something hasn't lived up to it's absolute full potential doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to exist."
such a beautiful quote

whoever said to play this video at 360p. You were right. So immersive

The story of Vice City takes place in 1986. When the game came out in 2002, 1986 was only 16 years ago. Meanwhile, 2002 is now 23 years ago.

the reason Tommy works for both the Cubans and the Haitians is Avery Carrington. He says in the mission cutscene for Two-Bit Hit, his last mission, that he wants to buy more land in Vice City, and "nothing brings down real-estate prices quicker than a good ol' fashioned gang war". So Tommy instigates one in that mission.

When you complete Shakedown, the mall mission, it unlocks property purchase and Avery calls you to nudge you towards buying some properties with the new "discount" prices you provided.

Tommy then plays both sides after, I guess to settle the gang war after getting what he and Avery wanted, so the prices can go back up. Tommy keeps his property and makes money off them, Avery I always assumed flipped them for a massive profit.

There was something very oddly comforting about playing Vice City late at night in the early 2000’s, after most TV channels stopped playing shows and just ran infomercials all night. It was like escaping into a different world.

Play this video in 360p for more immersion.

In regard to the uploads, genuinely I just want to watch whatever you want to create. I think the best content is what a creator WANTS to make, rather than what they think their audience wants.

You can't swim in vice City because the water is more accurate South Florida. Pythons, amoebas, sewage discharge, the occasional shark, alligator, flesh eating bacteria, collapsing condo pool, you name it.

the dedication to the costume changes is 10/10, you sir are an artist.

Rest in peace Ray Liotta.

Vice City Stories is a must-play if you’re a fan of that era of GTA. Played it a lot when I was in middle school/high school. Phil Collins makes a cool appearance in it too.

I love how the whole purpose of the game is to get the money back, but you can do the “Cone Crazy” side-mission and max your cash within the first half-an-hour of the game, and still have to finish the story. It would have been neat if there was a secret ending you could unlock once you collected as much money as was lost.

Insane to think that a 9 month project that was initially started as a DLC ended up becoming a cultural milestone.

An idea executed so perfectly, you can feel its presence in a sequel 24 years later.

19:54 alright do this is what happened. Sonny tells ken to find a seller, ken contacts cortez which sets the deal with the vance brothers, gonzalez lets Diaz know, Diaz hires professional hitman Leo Teal (the cook you kill in the beginning and who's phone you steal) to crash the deal, Teal needs more muscle for that so he hires the street wannabees. After they took the coke and money they decide to keep it for themselves instead of giving it to Diaz, shortly after Tommy killed Leo he gets a call from them on Leo's phone, they said "we have a buyer for Diaz merchandise", they were trying to sell the coke they stole from you, later Diaz tells you to chase one of them to find out where they're hiding, once you find out you storm the place with Lance and the helicopter, that money you bring back to Diaz is either the same money they stole from you, the profit they made off of Lance's coke or both

Vice City is one of my earliest gaming memories period. I remember my uncle had it on his ps2 and my siblings and i would take turns seeing who could get the most wanted stars and then lose them. It took me like 10+ years to realize the game actually had a story and wasn’t just a sandbox

15:10 such a weird period in gaming. Where you didn’t know if you could swim depending on the game, until you tried. Nowadays it’s pretty much taken for granted that you can swim unless your character is in full heavy armour. But back then you’d always jump in the first body of water to test if you could swim, walk into the first fire pit you found to test if you burned and jump off the first cliff to test fall damage 😂

26:20 younger me literally never completed the game because I had no idea you needed to complete all of these asset missions

Vice City will always hold a special place in my heart. Sitting in my dad's lap, with the second controller tucked under the ps2 as a 3 year old while he played this is my first memory of gaming

With the question on uploads at the end, imo if making simpler videos and then movie style ones every once and awhile works for you, then it works for me. The "simple" ones still have effort and love put into them and that's what matters to me
