So many people will be like "dude watch this horror movie" and its just 2hrs of a women being assaulted like yea man its disturbing, but like why

"Man is subjected to 24 hours of torture only to reveal that nobody was forcing him and he was alone in the room the whole time" - now that's an instant cult classic disturbing movie

I'm convinced that half of "disturbing movies" are just a way to show off practical effects on a low budget, and the other half are someone's fetish, a lot of times is both, very rarely it's an actual well thought story. The ones that are good don't get in "disturbing movie lists" because people value edgy shock more.

So, you know how Tubi just automatically plays a random movie in a similar genre after you finish one? Yeah... you should do that for 24 hours... a Tubi random choice horror movie marathon.  I've done it.  It's.... fun.

It was so noble of GG to cut out the first take where he hit nothing but bullseyes and watched half a movie

I love that after watching Funny Games, you start talking to the camera about how you're changing the rules and it is up to the editor to decide what the audience sees....without a shred of irony

You just know the whole dart board is to prove to his wife that “it wasn’t a waste of money” and he “does use it, actually”

The campy elements in Last House on the Left is part of the whole point. Wes Craven made it during Vietnam. The humor and lighthearted score juxtaposed against the assault and murder is to highlight how commonplace and desensitized the terrible atrocities being broadcast from the war were. It was the first war where there was a lot of real time footage on news coverage. Wes Craven found the idea that you could see images of horrific casualties on the news and then immediately be watching a silly sitcom after insane. Having Krug and his gang be how they are is supposed to reflect that dichotomy at the time.

Also, the remake revels in the assault a little too much in a way that feels sort of exploitative

When Megan Is Missing was chose over Man Bites Dog and Audition I started yelling like my team just lost Game 7 in a series at the buzzer.

Suggestion: instead of just staying awake for 24 hours, watch 24 hours worth of movies. Basically the same thing but you are allowed to eat and sleep.

With The house that Jack built, you’re truly just standing there like a dad who swears he doesn’t care about the show you’re watching but he keeps watching anyway 🤣

I don't understand why you put yourself through these things but good on you committing to it.

47:00 years later I learned about Megan is missing with that scene the director said it was allegedly a real conversation he had with a friends DAUGHTER so you could assume every question her friend is asking is, actually the questions he was asking his friends underage daughter….the only thing disturbing about Megan is missing is its director/writer

As soon as he chose Megan Is Missing, I was just thinking “That’s a mistake. It’s boring and you’re tired.” He should have chosen Audition!

15:54 GG calling me out for falling asleep to this guy while I’m lying here falling asleep to this guy, I took that personally-

The whole idea behind funny games is to deny the audience any satisfaction. I still cant believe the director remade his own movie shot for shot.

30:03 the nuttiest thing about In My Skin is: it isn't meant to be a metaphor for anything. In a recent interview Marina de Van said that was just a thing she did for a while.

13:53 honestly for an almost shot-for-shot, i found the original to be SO much more effective—the remake rushes a few scenes in a way that really diminishes their impact (especially right after the kid gets shot), i guess they thought american audiences have a way lower attention span?

Hitting Funny Games when no matter how you felt about it you were still obligated to watch double-digit hours worth of disturbing movies afterward is the funniest possible way to watch Funny Games

You could make "I watched the worst movies ever made for 24 hours" and get movies with 0% on Rotten Tomatoes or something like that. They don't need to be from any particular genre, so you'll get more variety and some of them can be funny.
