The Battle of Berlin (April 16–May 2, 1945) constituted the apocalyptic denouement of World War II in Europe. Led by Soviet Marshals Zhukov and Konev, the Red Army launched a large-scale offensive involving more than 2.5 million troops, aiming to dismantle the Nazi regime. The defense consisted of a desperate, chaotic mix of exhausted Wehrmacht divisions, aging Volkssturm militias, and the Hitler Youth. The fighting was characterized by a brutal “rattenkrieg” (rat war)—savage room-to-room combat amidst a landscape of skeletal ruins. Soviet artillery unleashed a ruthless “firestorm,” firing millions of shells that leveled what remained of the capital. The turning point came on April 30, when Adolf Hitler took his own life in his Führerbunker while Soviet soldiers hoisted the Red Flag over the Reichstag. On May 1, 1945, the Charlottenbrücke was one of the last bridges still in German hands and was defended by members of the Hitler Youth. That same day, the German army and a large number of civilians managed to retreat from the city center via this bridge under heavy artillery fire from the 47th Soviet Army. Heinrich Himmler's brother, Ernst Himmler, is said to have been killed during this breakout attempt. On May 2, the city officially surrendered. Ja de Slag om Berlijn was heftig, de Duitsers kregen de wraak van wat ze de russen hadden aangedaan.
Er zijn veel video's te vinden die vooral Mark Felton heeft gemaakt.
Er hebben trouwens ook veel Nederlanders gevochten in de slag om Berlijn.
Waarschijnlijk waren ze onderdeel van de Waffen-SS divisie's " Niederlande" en " Nordland"
Nog steeds is er geen keihard fysiek bewijs gevonden in de vorm van DNA dat Hitler daadwerkelijk is gestorven in Berlijn.
Dat zou toch de eerste prioriteit moeten zijn, wil je 100% aantonen dat dit inderdaad het geval is.
Maar de russen weigeren om DNA experts monsters te laten nemen van de menselijke resten om het te checken.
Dit heeft te maken dat de russen na de oorlog ruim 60 jaar lang claimden en stuk schedel te hebben van Hitler.
Na DNA onderzoek scheen dit niet van Hitler te zijn.
Gezien de onderzoeken van de F.B.I na de 2e wereldoorlog blijft de mogelijkheid bestaan, dat Hitler na de oorlog heeft geleefd in Zuid-Amerika tot 1962.
