My favorite flower to macro is a Gerber Daisy.  Done properly, I suppose an inventive photographer like yourself could make lovely abstracts from most anything.  Thank you for reminding me of why I have some of the gear that I have.

It's truly amazing how you can produce images like that at home. The phrase 'images are everywhere' is really true. You really are an artist full of passion and creativity, Andy. Thank you for sharing this video. Truly amazing.

Beautiful images Andy. Sometimes the reward of experimentation is finding out what doesn’t work and being pleasantly surprised what does work. If any of the images find it to your wall please share with us. Thanks for taking us along.

Lovely images from experimenting with a bouquet of flowers! It was refreshing to see your enthusiasm and excitement in your creativity. So very inspiring.

Great idea to leave the cellophane on the bunch of flowers; if you keep hold of the receipt, you can even get your money back when you have finished the photography.

Excellent pictures!  Subtle and sensitive are two words that come to mind.  It just shows what can be done if you have the skill and put your mind to it.  👍
My Dad used to drive my Mom bonkers setting up still life arrangements at home.  The only equipment he had was the camera and a tripod, so he'd take the bedside lamp from upstairs, drape an old curtain over a chair for a backdrop, use a piece of paper to reflect the light, and spend the next hour fussing over the arrangement until it was 'just so'.  Mom would be sitting in the lounge apparently watching the TV but quietly steaming inside!
By the way, I've noticed before that approx two thirds of my photos are in portrait orientation.  Portrait seems to be my default for some reason.  That can be a pain, because a few of my older cameras don't orientate the images on the SD, so I have to go through the SD re-orientating them before I can view them on my laptop.  😁

Thank you. I enjoyed the video !  Our eyes need soft dreamy photos in this difficult world 💚💜🌷

Thank you for this, Andrew.  As one of the admins for our small photography club, I issue weekly challenges and in honour of Valentine's Day my challenge this week was "red."  Then your video popped up and it inspired me a great deal so I'm going to head out soon in search of some red tulips.  Hopefully I can get some images as lovely as yours.  On top of everything else, you made me smile.

Even though I love seeing you outdoors, I really enjoy your indoor photography. And now you've given me so much inspiration for photographing tulips. Thanks! And the Valentine's Day idea too!

These look great and are very inspiring!!

Good stuff, and what a great idea, in what has been one of the longest greyest miserable winters I can remeber, to focus our attention on other sublject material and in easy reach.

Really enjoyed this video. Loved the images and the infinite amount of options that even one flower can present given some simple lighting and just slight positional variations. Tremendous food for thought and certainly worth considering on all those days when the weather holds you back. Many thanks.

12:56 that one was an excellent choice :D

Thanks Andrew, really enjoyed the detailed explanation and demonstration. Definitely going to have a go especially as the wet weather has dampened my spirit for the outdoors.

As it's still -20c or below where I am, I've been thinking about doing some Macro shots at home, this was perfectly timed sir! Thank you!

Great video Andy I'm inspired to give it a go soon

Wow!

A genius idea !!!! i'll try this soon, but with my off camera flash :)) Thank you very much for the idea, the video and the stunnings images !

great video, inspired to try it, but will need to wait as you have already inspired me to go out to the woods :😄

A perfect situation for a geared tripod head. Makes macro (and landscape) photography so much easier. I have a Neewer model but I'd recommend the Benro GD3WH or the K&F Concept GD3W..
